things grandparents say

I caught myself yesterday saying 'shall I try and wind DGS?' while I was actually thinking 'I can't stand seeing you making a mess of it any longer!'

I wondered if other grans had things they say which translate into something else entirely?

My usual one is 'do you want me to do their nappies?' In other words, one of my twin grandaughters has just pooed and she has fumes coming off her. It always reaches my nose before my daughter's grin

I do the winding thing 'flopsy' - they are no good at it at all grin

I ignore the nappies when even though I've got a good sense of smell. grin
