I'm confused!

Dear Granddaughter and Dear Husband. If you click on the 'Acronyms' tab, top right, you'll find a list of the most popular ones used here.

I was confused with the abbreviations when I started here. Have a look at 'Acronyms' (above, right). Dgd means (I think) Darling grand daughter - good luck!!!

If you look up above under Gransnet forums click on the tab Acronyms and all will be revealed

I wish someone would change those acronyms, although I know they're common usage on many websites. I don't wish to refer to my children or grandchild every time I refer to them as 'darling'.

They are my darlings, but it seems trite to use that term all the time and detracts from the genuine use of the endearment.

Sorry, just a minor rant.

I just use gs(for grandson) and if I had one would use gd(for granddaughter)

Could just use the full title.

I often just say the bairn as I just have one granddaughter.

I certainly don't think of them as "Darling" whatever, but I do think of them as "Dear"!

Yeah, mine have cost me a fortune!

But worth it!
