Could somebody please explain to a relative newby in words of two syllables or less how I post photos on Gransnet. Nothing technical please smile

Grannyknot Thu 18-Aug-16 15:49:45

Click on the icon below the box that you write in, that looks like a paperclip. That means "attach".

Select "Photos" from then is that pops up.

View the photos on your PC or tablet or phone.

Click on the photo you want to attach.

You will see your photo in miniature below the box.

Click on "Post".

Oops that should read

Select "Photos" from the box that pops up.

Grannyknot Thu 18-Aug-16 16:51:09

TriciaF Thu 18-Aug-16 16:53:46

I don't have any icons below the typing box sad

Grannyknot Thu 18-Aug-16 17:04:23

Do you have 3 boxes with "Choose file"?

DanniRae Thu 18-Aug-16 17:04:24

Nor do I!! sad

TriciaF Thu 18-Aug-16 17:10:01

No, but I have 3 boxes which say Browse.

Grannyknot Thu 18-Aug-16 17:14:10

Okay. Then click on one of those, and browse your folders for a photograph and then continue as above!

TriciaF Thu 18-Aug-16 17:17:26

I did that and it comes up with this:
www.victoriana.com/library/Beach/FashionableBathingSuits.htm
The last site I posted on another forum this morning.
Sorry, I'm not good at this.

Well done Millymouge, lovely photo.

Elegran Thu 18-Aug-16 17:39:18

The browse button takes you to your computer and a list of the files on there. One of them is the photo you are looking for. To find it you will have to go to the folder that has that photo file in it. Do you know which folder the photo you want to post has been saved in?

Elegran Thu 18-Aug-16 17:40:02

It will have gone first to that bathing suit file because that was the last you used.

TriciaF Thu 18-Aug-16 17:58:12

Thanks Elegran, and Grannyknot - I think I know how to find the file with the photo, but will have to ask husband (later).
I'm a self taught silversurfer but don't think I taught myself very well, only the basics.
Husband had some lessons, and is a natural anyway.

Millymouge I have fallen totally in love with your dog!

Charleygirl Thu 18-Aug-16 18:14:54

Those dogs are so cute.

petra Thu 18-Aug-16 18:41:57

Here goes. And if anyone knows what this plant is, could you tell me. Thank you.

petra Thu 18-Aug-16 18:46:41

Thank you so much for the very precise but simple explanation GrannyKnot

dustyangel Thu 18-Aug-16 18:53:35

I think they could be Alstoemeira petra, not sure but there will probably be a proper'gardener along soon. smile

petra Thu 18-Aug-16 19:20:00

Dustyangel I think your right. I've looked it up and think that's it. I bought it in a plant sale when it was on its last legs. I've been so impressed with it that I want to get some more. Thank you.

Pollengran Thu 18-Aug-16 19:28:34

It is Alstroemeria. If you mulch them they will survive over Winter in some areas, but not all. I like it, but use it mainly to bulk out a cut flower arrangement.

millymouge Thu 18-Aug-16 19:32:18

Thank you Margsus and Charleygirl they are two rescued ex racing greyhounds. The white one Sophie is 12 1/2 a very good age for a hound, and the black is Harry 9 years. We think they are lovely. To all

Greyduster Fri 19-Aug-16 10:41:37

I can do it, but sometimes they come out upside down! What I would really like to know is why, when I post pictures on my profile page, other photos disappear. I can only manage to get two on there. Are we only allowed two?
