Hi Judith, I'm lucky enough to have a whole month off from doing anything in particular and being anyone other than just "me" - so a perfect time to indulge in reading, which I love, and your book was in the pile I brought with me.
It was an interesting read in an easy reading sort of way, I understand why you did it; get why you felt it was important to complete the task you had set for yourself; was entertained by the day to day activities of the people in your life and your community; gritted my teeth along with you at the thought of having to get the 'Jam Jar Army' under way (I'd have thrown in the towel). Thoughtful passages where you consider the philosophies behind the need to do good deeds are included, you explore the religious approaches to good-deedery and consult with academics, I found all that interesting. It was reassuring to discover that - far from blowing your own trumpet - you are just an ordinary person who thought about doing a good deed a day for a year and what it could teach your kids, and recording it in a book. I enjoyed reading how it all panned out. I'll pass the book on to my daughter. Thanks for sending me the copy.
