Having seen how much others enjoy one of my favourites - the Merrily Watkins series - I wondered if anyone else on here likes the Dick Francis, now Felix Francis books.
Years ago, when I still believed everyone needed books in their lives to be happy, I tried to find something that would appeal to my intelligent but generally none reading OH. He loved racing so I got an early Dick Francis - and I have been hooked ever since. It made little difference to his reading but each year I looked forward to the new book. Since Dick Francis' death his son, who worked with him in his later years, has taken over and although I felt it took a while for him to get into his stride I am enjoying his more recent books just as much.
They do all have some horse racing connection but one is about a glass blower, one about a chef, one a racecourse commentator. One of the things I like is the research that has gone into them. They are great thrillers a I find them just great story telling.

Another silly little ABC game - shops we have loved and lost?
