Looking for a falcon......!

The landfill site 10 miles away is looking for one of its falcons. They use them to see off the seagulls that feed on the waste. Apparently this one has somehow knocked off its tracker and fled! What I want to know is what do we do if we see it? It's not as if we can lure it with a box of cat crunchies or tin of dog food.

I am sure it could be lured with little bits of steak. Well, I could, though I'd prefer them cooked (well done, please)

kate I'm reading is for Hawk by Helen McDonald at the moment and loving it. I thought you wanted to take up falconry smile

Exactly, what would you do if the falcon descended on you, and anyway it was just any old falcon not the lost one!Throw a towel over it and wrestle it to the ground?

I would probably phone the SSPCA and report the sighting. Don't think I would attempt anything to have it come near me. shock

Call the experts if falcon seen, waste of Maltesers and I don't think bird seed would work!

I'd wondered about the towel and the pet carrier method but think a phone call to SSPCA or RSPB might be safer!
