DW and DH (or partners) on GN ???

(45 Posts)

I have been on GN since last summer
And I really enjoy reading and adding posts. So much so that I often say..
'On grandsnet they advise this or that'
Or ' isn't that interesting bit of info'
And 'listen to this its so funny/sad'
You could say I've been a GN ambassador!
But in a few weeks DH is retiring and says he will have time for such things as GN
shock NO GN is mine!
I never tell him what I post ( he wouldn't understand or get the wrong end of the stick)
He doesn't know my GN name but would soon guess!
I feel my freedom on GN would be curtailed.
I'm sure there are joint GN members
So how do you get on?
How do other GNetters feel about there OH being on GN?

Oops 'their'

DH is also online but uses his own sites he knows my gransnet name and it wouldn't bother me if he peeked or joined I don't think he'd find it very interesting if I'm honest he's not nosy and a gossip like me grin.

DH is on here but doesn't post and he says by the time he remembers to look the postings have got to long and he cant read through them all. I know his name and he knows mine - it seems to be OK.

I'm so glad DH is not interested in computers. He'd drive me mad on here - butting in, contradicting....I get enought of that every day, Ta very much. grin

Jalima Sun 14-Feb-16 17:25:34

Ooh no, I don't want him on here, have to have a bit of privacy grin

Greyduster Sun 14-Feb-16 18:01:00

Here here!!

ninathenana Sun 14-Feb-16 18:30:21

Fortunately H wouldn't have a clue how to get here, let alone post !

obieone Sun 14-Feb-16 18:48:08

DH isnt a member but reads some of my posts occasionally. I dont mind. I wouldnt want him actually joining though.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 18:57:48

Tell him you got the name wrong. Direct him to the Website called "Grannynet" and keep him off of here.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 19:01:25

Grannynet They need some men on there.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 19:02:49

My God. They need some posters on there. shock

Cherrytree59 Sun 14-Feb-16 19:02:59

Jings didn't know about grannynet
is it for real?
if so could be the answergrin

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 19:07:10

Yes. It is for real. We had a bit of a fight with them once. We won of course. smile

Cherrytree59 Sun 14-Feb-16 19:08:20

Just googled grannynet
says after 8years its folding (unless I've got wrong end of stick!)

Ana Sun 14-Feb-16 19:09:22

Is it? Are you still a member, jingl? grin
(Think I probably am, I never officially left...)

grumppa Sun 14-Feb-16 19:10:44

Mrs. Grumppa (note avoidance of acronyms) follows GN but rarely contributes. She knows my name and I know hers.

Maggiemaybe Sun 14-Feb-16 19:18:43

I've just googled Grannynet and it looks as though they've gone offline shock Is this right, jingl?

Maggiemaybe Sun 14-Feb-16 19:20:36

Whoops, sorry - been chatting about my takeaway offer instead of posting, and the breaking news has already, hmmm, broken...grin

Maggiemaybe Sun 14-Feb-16 19:22:00

order, not offer, FGS.

Cherrytree59 Sun 14-Feb-16 19:24:57

It said 'make sure you get each others contact details'
Jings I'm sure they will be able to find you on GN.
Back to the drawing board for mehmm

Elegran Sun 14-Feb-16 19:31:04

Not very lively, is it?

POGS Sun 14-Feb-16 21:24:46

Hubby does know my user name but he is not on GN. I don't know if he lurks or reads my post.

In case he does SHOVE OFF NOSEY. grin

ninathenana Sun 14-Feb-16 22:01:53

I tried Grannynet for about two weeks before I found GN. I would never have stuck it with them.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 22:06:14

Oh! I didn't know they had closed down. I wonder just what it was that made GN so much better. confused
