Shadow Dancer

Not seen it yet but plan to. Especially as it has Gillian Anderson and Andrea Riseborough in it [two of my favourite actresses].

Certainly recommend it. AR is excellent. GA too but more a cameo role so not often on screen.

Saw it last night; don't understand the plot at all!

It was confusing.. trying to work out who as a double agent & which person was in cahoots with which other person, who was controlling who... but I am sure that is what life was like for the families living in those areas in those times and as for MI5 well I am sure it as 'need to know' basis info only which made things more confusing! DH & I and our friends all had a big discussion about the film but especially about who planted the final bomb! There were different opinions! What did you think?

SPOILER ALERT!! I think I need to see the film again! I also don't seem to recall anyone saying who the father of her son was and what had happened to him. Given that the shot which killed her brother had been from an IRA gun, I assume her mother had been a double agent for a long time? Too many things didn't add up for me; annoyingly I can't find a break down of the plot anywhere as I need it to be spelled out to me [I can never understand James Bond films either, so I go into this sort of film without even attempting to make sense of them..the two exceptions being Donnie Darko and The Prestige].

SPOILER ALERT 2! Mother was a double agent since '83.. don't think I worked out why that occurred! I was confused as to where Gillian Anderson was..London /Belfast? Also why Colette wore such a bright coat..easy to spot!!
