Just made a fruit crumble for Sunday lunch tomorrow. Have got in the habit of using "cooks' cheat" McDougall Crumble Topping, (well, it is delicious!)

Last time I made one had a quarter of the bag left over. Popped it in kitchen cupboard. Yesterday took a fancy to a pack of Marks and Sparks Oaty Crumble Topping. So, used that, and added rest of pack of McDougalls in with it.

Crumble in oven. Comprises two packs raspberries and one pack strawberries.

Just looked at storage instructions on topping bag. "Store in a cool dry place". Last week, when I was away, the temperature climbed into the 30's. shock (and [shite])

Topping ingredients are flour, sugar and oils.

Excessive heat would probably only make the mixture sticky - not poisonous! grin

Right. It wasn't sticky at all, so perhaps it's fine.

DD said something about the oil in it going rancid, but she is inclined to catastrophise. hmm

I'm cooking it well.

Will to fine- honest.

These mixes are good but I usually add a bit more oats as they are too sweet. Main reason I don't buy them anymore is that they are full of palm oil sad

Cant you spell jingle?

Sorry but just returning some of the dripping innuendo posted here sometimes

Hope you enjoy your crumble

hmm

I know someone who used to make savoury innuendo crumble

I think she used dripping.

Should be fine Jingle . It lasts much longer than the use by dates and also it would smell funny and be tacky if it was off .

Just wondered how crumble went down Jings

Cherrytree59 Sat 30-Jul-16 22:25:13

Just noticed Sunday lunch!
Will re post tomorrow to check your all ok. wink

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 30-Jul-16 22:59:45

I thought it didn't look right! It's got an 'o' hasn't it! My spelling has gone right down the pan. hmm

Why didn't spell checker sort that out? Obviously my mini iPad can't spell either! shock

What actually is 'dripping innuendo'? confused Is it different from ordinary innuendo?

DaphneBroon Sat 30-Jul-16 23:02:03

Bread and dripping innuendo mmm, one of my favourites!
