Visited a Christmas market today, and a stall was selling little sachets of coloured gel for growing plants instead of soil. You only need water the plants about every eight weeks. The gel was in different colours and yhe display loked very attractive, as the plants were in glass containers.
This is a completely new idea to me and i wondered if anyone on here knew more about it. Do garden centres sell it?

I bought some in Spain many years ago and it is still lying round somewhere waiting to be used.
