So sorry to hear this Nannybob and totally understand how scared you must feel I would be too I suppose the positive side is many nodules are benign and even if not the fact that they have seen it as a nodule and not something bigger means that it will most likely be easy to manage and remove Have you got a date for the next scan?

HUGE GOOD LUCK sent to you

This must be very frightening for you and you have all my sympathy.

Most nodules are benign - and a nodule is small as opposed to a mass which is larger and more worrying. So the chances are that they are just playing safe and that is a positive thing.

My OH has one in his lung and they scan it every few months - it has never grown at all and they leave it be.

I do wish you lots of luck with your surgery. flowers

Sorry to hear that Nannybob. I can understand you being scared. When I had pneumonia a few years ago, I was scanned as some nodules showed up on the X-ray. When I was told about these, I was terrified as I had had breast cancer 3 years previously and thought it might have spread.

However, a broncoscopy and biopsy showed there was no cancer and the nodules were related to the pneumonia.

I have annual follow ups and the nodules seem to have gone now although one lung is scarred due to radiotherapy.

Let's hope that your op goes well and the outcome is good. Keep us posted. Will be thinking of you.

Hi, please try not to worry too much (easier said than done). My DD who is 32 and has Down Syndrome had nodules in her lung. A CT scan and other tests have revealed bronchiectasis A bit of a pain but managable.
Good luck!

Hi I know it's easy to say but try not to worry, I think the worst part is the waiting and the not knowing, hope you get your next scan soon. Let us know as soon as you hear anything flowers

Hi all thought I would let you know pet scan showed nodule not active which is good news. They are going to re scan in 3mths to check it has not changed in any way. It did show sign of emphysema although lung function was normal so have to make some lifestyle changes.
