Having seen the photo of the creature, a moggy if ever there was one!Honestly you can tell its the 'silly season'. Shame the police had to spend so much time on it.
I thought it looked more like an alpaca!
Anagram, they have longer necks even when sitting down, our neighbours have them.
Yes, I know, but if it was unkempt....and it was such an awful photo you couldn't really tell the length of its neck!
It's a cat... and I think the photograph looks as if it was taken with a digital zoom to make it look bigger - a hoax if ever there was one.
annodomini, yes it screamed cat to me, its something about the proportions of the ears to top of head. Even when photos are fuzzy the relative proportions remain the same - and having lived with a big ginger moggy for so many years, dear old William RIP.

Was it a hoax I wonder? Did anyone see the news yesterday.
A man was describing what he saw, claiming it was a loin, and his name was ...... Bob Martin. !!!! I happen to have some Bob Martin 'spot on' flea treatment for my cat in my cupboard , makes you think dont you agree ?
There is speculation that it was a Maine Coon.
I do think its possible for people to genuinely think they've seen a 'big cat' as there usually isn't any way to gauge the scale at long distances , if its a genuine mistake I'm sure no one would blame them for reporting it just in case.

What about the roars? People heard it ROAR!!!
Psychologists can give you chapter and verse about eye-witness accuracy. Its quite bizarre what people can think they have seen or heard.
How many people know what a lion's roar sounds like?

It's loud and scary Anno!
...........it could be still out there..........
And they can travel..............
We've been laughing at the telly presenter who stands in a field doing a piece to camera saying it's all been a hoax. Why can we not take our eyes of the hedge behind him?

HildaW You're quite right. An experiment was done with visitors to Disneyland and all were persuaded that they had seen Bugs Bunny (a Warner Brothers cartoon character).

I saw a big sinuous furry black animal slinking across my path the other day. Was it a panther, you ask.
Or even an otter.
No, it was a mink.
fish perhaps but not people.
