Attack in Canadian Parliament building!

BBC News channel 601 on Virgin Media.

Correction - it was at the War Memorial right beside the Parliament buiding. A soldier standing on guard there was shot and has since died. It is being linked with a recent incident with Islamic militants.

They don't seem to be at all forthcoming at the press conference. Wonder if Canadian security is as good as (hopefully) the UK's is.

A gunman entered the Parliament building.

Gunman has died.

Three patients were taken to hospital. Sounds as though one was the soldier, one the gunman, plus another. Gunman and soldier have died.

Threat level only on "medium"! And they've just joined in against ISIL!

Nothing like as good as UK, they are saying They were "taken by surprise" despite the earlier attack.

The Jihadis are attacking a country which does not seem to be as tight on security, that is what is happening.

Nobody knows who the attackers are, yet!

Who else could it be? They have threatened it, and they run down and killed a soldier a few days ago. I'd say it is very unlikely to be anyone else.
