Grannyknot Mon 17-Nov-14 09:48:03

It's faintly embarrassing ... blush or is that just me?

soontobe Mon 17-Nov-14 09:57:33

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 10:17:53

merlotgran Mon 17-Nov-14 10:20:00

hmm

Lona Mon 17-Nov-14 11:00:09

Yuk.

janerowena Mon 17-Nov-14 11:07:46

What have pussies got to do with it? Totally confused and wondering if she is assuming that all pensioners are in possession of vaginas?

Mishap Mon 17-Nov-14 11:12:00

Hmm - a bit cringeworthy.

hildajenniJ Mon 17-Nov-14 11:19:22

Excuse me! What is this woman talking about, cats, or the "other".

Elegran Mon 17-Nov-14 11:29:08

From her smile at the end while talking about "ginger, black or grey" pussies I think it is the other.

alex57currie Mon 17-Nov-14 11:34:22

Totally agree with you all. Cringeworthy alert advisable. shock

Grannyknot Mon 17-Nov-14 11:38:09

Well, I saw it on Twitter and she's had lots of retweets (with varying comments) so I hope she likes the video!

Can't help but wonder who on earth signed it off, or even thought it was a good idea shock And it seems to have some connection with the hospital...I wonder what they make of it.

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 11:42:45

I don't think anyone needs to 'sign off' a youtube video!

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 11:44:40

"Audrey from Save Stafford Hospital is a fine poet! She is part of the team who are dedicated to saving their hospital and now making sure the UK is aware of the treachery and deceit surrounding the management of the NHS - and the hidden (perhaps not so hidden these days) agenda of sell-off and privatisation."

merlotgran Mon 17-Nov-14 11:51:24

I'm reminded of Annette Crosbie's remark in Calendar Girls.....'No front bottoms, please!'

ninathenana Mon 17-Nov-14 12:24:27

Ana dedicated she maybe. I admire her for what she's trying to do. And humour can help a good cause but.......

ninathenana Mon 17-Nov-14 12:26:00

Sorry, I'll go and sit on the naughty step for starting a sentence with 'and'

Ana Mon 17-Nov-14 12:37:59

nina, I didn't write that - it was the blurb under the video that some people seemed not to have seen...grin

nightowl Mon 17-Nov-14 13:15:29

I think it's quite funny. What's wrong with pensioner pussy riot? Or can only young women have pussies? I think the real Pussy Riot would support her.

Go Audrey! smile

kittylester Mon 17-Nov-14 13:21:51

It's not the pussies I object too but the silly poem!!

NiNina, *ariadne' said it's ok to start a sentence with and now that we are grown up! I live doing it!!

kittylester Mon 17-Nov-14 13:22:51

Sorry Nina

nightowl Mon 17-Nov-14 13:31:22

Well yes kitty I agree she's no poet laureate but I do like the twinkle in her eye. And (I'm doing it now as well) it's all in a good cause

Pussy Riot are the girl band who were sent to prison in Russia for performing in a church. It's nothing to do with genitalia unless you accept there is innuendo.

Pussy Riot were feted by some for challenging the establishment but they also go out to shock, hence there is/was a YouTube clip of one of the band actually using a frozen chicken in a supermarket, how shall I say this, using the frozen chicken as Anne Summers Toy . I'm no prude but it is quite shocking.

It doesn't offend or make me have an opinion about Audrey but was it wise to associate the name of the hospital with Pussy Riot when you dig a bit deeper into what they are.

Blimey, this thread has gone on a journey! And, my mind is totally boggled!!
