FarNorth Tue 23-Sep-14 19:46:37

He deserves to have bits of his anatomy frozen off by a regal glare.

rosequartz Tue 23-Sep-14 19:48:59

Probably wiping his brow and saying 'phew, that was a close thing'

Which bits FarNorth hmm

rosequartz Tue 23-Sep-14 19:49:14

There'll be some good cartoons in the papers tomorrow I bet.

Galen Tue 23-Sep-14 20:29:02

I missed this. What happened?

This - silly boy!

What a fuss about nothing...

He betrayed trust so not a fuss about nothing

merlotgran Tue 23-Sep-14 21:14:55

How can he have betrayed trust? He didn't divulge any of the conversation and as the Queen isn't a cat I doubt she actually purred.

It's DC's Gordon Brown moment and nowhere near as damaging.

Ana Tue 23-Sep-14 21:16:49

How lovely to see you back again, G2 - I'm sure you were missed.

Your personal remarks are rather trying, though - and not very clever.

Anniebach Tue 23-Sep-14 21:30:15

Does not compare with Brown and his comment. It is known that no PM ever speaks of any conversation with the queen , bunk house has emphasised this fact again this evening. The queen did not disclose her views on the referendum or the outcome, I am sure we guessed what result she wanted now we know, this is betrayal of trust .

Atqui Tue 23-Sep-14 21:44:10

What is bunk house?

Anniebach Tue 23-Sep-14 21:50:53

A spelling error Atqui

Atqui Tue 23-Sep-14 21:59:40

Sorry... It's late for me!

GrannyTwice Tue 23-Sep-14 22:08:30

Dear Ana - so lovely to have the opportunity to engage yet again with you in such reasoned , intelligent and well informer debate about the conventions of the British constitution. Perhaps you could enlighten us all with all the examples you are doubtless so well aware of of British PMs telling Americans of telephone calls they have had with HM and her reactions to a very important constitutional issue.

merlotgran Tue 23-Sep-14 22:13:43

The Queen probably punched the air and ran around the room shouting YESSSSSSS!!!

She doesn't appear to be a cat lover and as far as I know, corgis don't purr so maybe Philip was snoring?

merlotgran Tue 23-Sep-14 22:14:31

Or maybe she should have been shouting, NOOOOOOOOO grin

Ana Tue 23-Sep-14 22:16:16

OFGS G2, give it a rest with the superior-toned sarcasm. You're just showing yourself up.

GrannyTwice Tue 23-Sep-14 22:19:14

Ana - still waiting for your answer as to why its a fuss about nothing and how that relates to the convention of conversations with HM? What's superior and sarcastic about that?

Ana Tue 23-Sep-14 22:21:01

And I'm still waiting for an apology for the content of your deleted post, but I doubt that'll be forthcoming.

Get off my case.

annodomini Tue 23-Sep-14 22:30:13

I'm sure HM heaved a sigh of relief and topped up the G&T.

GrannyTwice Tue 23-Sep-14 22:40:14

I expect you'll be waiting as long for my apology as I will for your discussion as to why the Telegraph's comments were are a fuss about nothing. And anno - of course HM welcomed the result but that wasn't my point, was it, it was about the behaviour of DC

Did anyone watch An Audience with The Queen with Helen Mirren as her may? I saw it at our local cinema, as a live broadcast from the National Theatre and loved it. I'm with Granny2, in believing it isn't a fuss about nothing, though I'm sure buck house will make no further comment. I imagine the boy wonder will be somewhat subdued when he next visits. grin
