Isn't it about time we had another Birmingham meet up?

Any thoughts about date/venue/time?

Lunch maybe, early March or last week in February?

Soutra Sun 08-Feb-15 15:18:44

Nobody?sad not even for the Chenin Blanc?

Are you near enough to make a northwest meetup, Soutra? I see quite a few Gransnetters mentioning they are travelling up and down the country every now and again, and it would be great to welcome them when they're passing through here.

There are trains to Crewe and Warrington etc which if you /I book advance tickets might be doable.

Let's keep it in mind, then. Warrington and Crewe might be handy for quite a few who would like to meet up.

I could do Birmingham or the North-west if I managed to combine it with a visit to DD.

kittylester Sun 08-Feb-15 16:22:04

I'm up for Brum too, that's easily doable. What about other East Mids grans?

granjura Sun 08-Feb-15 16:42:43

Would love to, but no idea when I shall next be in UK- if I am over for the date you pick, would love to join you.

Tegan Sun 08-Feb-15 16:56:16

I'm planning a trip to Brum at some point as I have a cousin there that I want to visit, but my immediate plans are still very much in the air at the moment.

Oldgreymare Sun 08-Feb-15 18:37:14

Me Me Me!
Might give the Chenin Blanc a miss tho', such a summery drink hmm
Just avoid the second week in March, please.

Its easy for me to catch a train to Birmingham and even easier to reach Crew or Warrington. Macclesfield is on the line to Birmingham.

MrsPickle Sun 08-Feb-15 19:03:45

I can catch a direct train to Birmingham.

J52 Sun 08-Feb-15 19:08:26

I can get to Birmingham. Depends on day. x

kittylester Sun 08-Feb-15 19:11:04

Teetime?

I don't mind driving with a car load from round here!

Tegan Sun 08-Feb-15 20:15:54

Checking my incredibly full calendar [not sad] I'm sort of tied up 23/24 Feb and am actually in Brum on 5 March [but not till late afternoon] and, like OGM not around 10-13 March [ie not moving from the telly]. Then away middle of March @19th for several days.

Tegan Sun 08-Feb-15 20:22:50

Just been told I'm away from 17th March till 24th.

Day6 Sun 08-Feb-15 21:30:37

I am not too far away and can meet in Brum. It would be lovely to make some new friends. I only became a Granny two years ago, and I have discovered whole new, wonderful lease of life. If a date is agreed upon, I'll join you if I may?

Luckylegs9 Sat 11-Jul-15 19:53:14

Are there any nee tips in Birmingham?

Tegan Sat 11-Jul-15 20:31:24

I'm still planning my trip to Brum [crikey; where's the year going?].

Oldgreymare Sun 12-Jul-15 08:49:10

Me too Tegan... shall we start planning for the first 2 weeks in October (will need cheering up as summer will be long gone by then and decent racing yet to start!!!)
Same venue (Museum) and retreating to the 'Chenin Blanc' hotel or shall we start (and finish) at the hotel?
Lets sort a date and venue then those who want to can join in......

J52 Sun 12-Jul-15 08:58:36

Just let me know the date smile

x

granjura Sun 12-Jul-15 11:44:26

Staying put for the Summer, but definitely planning on a longer visit in October- so hopefully can organise another meet-up then- will give dates when we have decided. Really looking forward to this - either Leicester, Market Harborough, Oakham or Melton.

Enjoy your Summer meet-up.

Teetime Sun 12-Jul-15 12:17:06

Count me in for October.

Tegan Sun 12-Jul-15 13:00:08

I'm around first week in October [well, till the Thursday, then off to Hexham for the racing] and then around 19th to 22nd. After that I might be tied up for a couple of weeks.

granjura Sun 12-Jul-15 13:12:05

our dates will depend on when DD1 and grandchildren can come and visit or vice-versa- so will have to confirm later.
