Last ever meal!

If you had to choose a last ever meal [not because of imminent execution or anything too horrible] maybe because there are now pills to take as food is being phased out and all will be in tablet form from now on say......
what starter, meal and pudding would you choose?Choose carefully, it will be the very last food ever!shockWould it be something to remind you of childhood?Something you had to eat on holiday, or your favourite from right now?
Mine is,
Dim sum selection,
mild chicken curry and wild rice,
apple pie or tart with clotted cream [uh-oh now I am hungry.]

Sweat reds in a white wine sauce!

Galen Mon 14-Apr-14 20:24:21

Sweetbreads !

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 20:25:50

Roast chicken dinner. Not bothered about a starter or pudding.

rosesarered Mon 14-Apr-14 20:29:12

Galen why no starter or pud, it's your last ever.
Ana are you quite sure about that as well?Oh well, you can have an extra large helping of roast chicken dinner then.

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 20:32:40

I haven't got a big appetite at the best of times, I could never eat three courses! grin I'm sure you'll get many more contributors though...

shysal Mon 14-Apr-14 20:37:32

No starter, main of Stinking Bishop cheese on freshly baked bread, dessert of a whole raspberry pavlova!

durhamjen Mon 14-Apr-14 20:37:46

An enormous plate of every vegetable there is, eaten slowly over a couple of days.

rosesarered Mon 14-Apr-14 20:38:10

Ana 'Oh go on dear, force yourself!' as the late Frankie Howerd used to say. grin

rosesarered Mon 14-Apr-14 20:42:03

shysal you would be very very sick!
durhamjen that's not allowed, I have consulted the rule book, and only 2 hours are the max. sorry.

durhamjen Mon 14-Apr-14 20:45:04

Making up your own rules now. It would still be the same, I'd just have to eat more quickly. Hope I do not make myself sick.

shysal Mon 14-Apr-14 20:47:31

No, I wouldn't be sick! I could eat that any day. blush

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 20:48:32

And I certainly won't force myself, thank you roses - wouldn't enjoy it if I had to, would I? wink

NanKate Mon 14-Apr-14 20:53:20

Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and parsnips, cabbage and a jug full of gravy. Plus a nice big glass of Merlot.

If I had room then my late Mum's apple crumble and Bird's custard.

P.S. horseradish.

rosesarered Mon 14-Apr-14 20:57:39

Ana grin
NanKate that sounds a great meal.

granjura Mon 14-Apr-14 21:01:29

A proper aged British rib of beef, with all the trimmings- followed by apple crumble and custard- and then Stilton and Gruyères.

Or .. raclette with the best of Swiss cheese.

NanKate Mon 14-Apr-14 21:04:11

I notice Roses your first 2 courses are rather exotic . I like the idea of the clotted cream.

I can smell the roast beef now and see the pot of dripping mum kept on the shelf for future use.

NanKate Mon 14-Apr-14 21:05:24

I see Granjura we are of similar taste.

Lona Mon 14-Apr-14 21:13:43

Saag prawn with boiled rice. Nothing further needed.

nightowl Mon 14-Apr-14 21:19:16

Afternoon tea at the ritz. I would eat cake until I was sick.

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 21:30:55

Yeuch...! hmm

Penstemmon Mon 14-Apr-14 22:25:56

A Palestinian meal:
A mezze of Fatoush Salad/hoummus/ moutabel & arayes

Kibbeh with mejedderah and an okra stew

Poached Figs in rosewater with pine nuts and almonds and pistachio ice cream

grin Yum!

nightowl Mon 14-Apr-14 22:36:31

That's why I'm round Ana blush

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 22:44:25

It was only the mention of 'sick' that made me say 'Yeuch', nightowl, not the cake...tbuwink

Ana Mon 14-Apr-14 22:47:55

No, I didn't mean that - I haven't got a 'sick' phobia.
I meant eating until you're sick...that's just gross!
