Collection of court fines.

Does anyone else think this should be stopped?
The government is giving the contract to an American company.

Apparently less than 25% of people asked think it is appropriate for a private company to make profit out of collecting and administrating court fines.
It has already cost the government £14 million before the contract has been signed.
The same company is collecting for HMRC and has only saved £500,000 compared with its estimate of £285 million. It is also the company that has sent out thousands of letters to people accusing them of fiddling their tax credits.

If you think this is completely wrong, write to your MP. There is a link to EDM 189 where you can find out if your MP has already signed up to it on www.weownit.org.uk website.
