Uk charity giving up on Calais

Can't be true if it's in the DM, apparently...

Care to expand? One young British woman I have befriended on an expat immigrant Forum in France has been working tirelessly to get supplies to Calais- wonderful and caring person.

The vast majority at Calais are economic migrants, not refugees, young, fit men fleeing from conscription and who want to get here for benefits etc

Donations taken to there are being burnt on bonfires because they want mobile phones, iPads and money not clothing, toiletries etc.

A local organisation took four transit vans full of donations which were scornfully refused, so brought it all back again. It included tents, sleeping bags, blankets, toiletries etc. The accompanying people were shocked and disgusted as well as disappointed, the donations have now gone to homeless charity in nearby city.

Will they be setting fire to Banksy's dismantled Dismaland I wonder?

This is appalling.
Why can the UK not take refugees from Calais who want to be in the UK?
Particularly the children.
They say they are treated as badly by the French police as they were by the Syrian police.

Because the foreign secretary said they would lower our standard of living , he of doubtful parentage
