I know voting is a private thing, but im wondering if anybody on this site voted for Cameron in May. ?...

And if so, did those who voted for Cameron realise that both he and Osborne are continuing what Thatcher started over 30 years ago, that of rolling back the State and getting rid of all the social improvements brought in by a Socialist Labour Government after WW2.....This is an ideological agenda of the Tory's. They despise the State and everything attached to it.

Nearly did, but struggled, so didnt.

Glad you have written a much shorter opening post. And politely too.

You are going to get pulled up for having written Tory's again. You may be rebelling. I dont blame you.

I am not sure that the rolling back of the state is because they dont like it.
Could it be because it costs money to run?

You're right, voting IS a private thing.

At least you are more polite at the start of this post. It is none of your business how I vote.

TORIES
Please write our 100 times, this is how you spell the colloquial name for the Conservative Party, then adjust your spellchecker.

Cameron was not standing in my constituency as it happens, but there is a recon we have a secret ballot.

*Write ouT", doh!

soontobe, The right wing of the Tory party in or out of government are ideologically opposed to the role of the State and everything attached to it.

These cut backs have nothing to do with costs, they are purely ideological.

Im a Labour voter, because Labour gave us the NHS, and because Labour by tradition always look after the vulnerable.

Questiontime Sat 29-Aug-15 11:29:02

I see im getting slapped on the wrist for my spelling by a few people. Its nice to see "poisonality" out there in Granset.

Questiontime Sat 29-Aug-15 11:29:58

Charleygirl , I didnt ask you "personally", I asked a general question.

Anne58 Sat 29-Aug-15 11:37:16

.

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-15 11:46:00

No, voted labour

Charleygirl Sat 29-Aug-15 11:47:26

I am so pleased you mentioned that you are a Labour voter because I would never have guessed.

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-15 12:02:28

Thought it would surprise some Charleygirl

Alea Sat 29-Aug-15 12:05:34

Well regarding spelling, do you have an ideological objection to "getting it right"?

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-15 12:35:32

Is correcting posters spelling acceptable on this forum?

Indinana Sat 29-Aug-15 12:37:26

You are beginning to get on my nerves now QT angry

grumppa Sat 29-Aug-15 12:41:17

Surely correcting spelling (or grammar or punctuation) is only acceptable when the intended meaning is unclear?

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 29-Aug-15 13:05:19

MYOB

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 13:20:07

grumppa probably you are right, but when a grammatical error leaps off the page at you, it tends then to be the only thing that you notice.

Tories, Tories, Tories

But Qt does not listen - and indeed, why should he? He knows he is always right.
(Or left as the case may be. grin)

Apologies, Qt you may be female.

rosequartz Sat 29-Aug-15 13:24:23

You did not ask generally, Qt, it was a personal question (or is that beyond your reasoning?).

Generally, I believe that Gransnetters voted right across the political spectrum.

Don't worry everyone, school starts again next week.

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-15 13:28:08

It may be one thing you notice but it's unkind to draw attention to a spelling error or to correct it . Suppose it makes some feel superior , pity

whitewave Sat 29-Aug-15 13:28:58

QT you making the same mistake that so many ageist people make in that because we may be getting on in years and somewhat wrinkled that we are also losing our marbles. But the truth is that you are in danger of stating the bleeding obvious to us grans, as we have seen it all and experienced much between us.

A wee bit of growing up is in order

Alea Sat 29-Aug-15 13:34:26

Come off it Anniebachsmile
"He only does it to annoy
Because he knows it teases"

If we have threads on Pedants' Corner etc lamenting spelling and grammar howlers, isn'it more than a bit disingenuous to perpetrate them?
