Come on Soop!

Humbertbear Thu 05-Feb-15 09:19:42

As no one has posted I thought I would go first. This is the old pump room at Tenbury Wells in Shropshire painted in watercolours. As soon as I saw it I knew I had paint it. This was done at my regular art class. I've been painting for about five years, since I retired.

Soop!! As artist in residence...

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 05-Feb-15 09:41:00

That's really nice Humbertbear. Must have taken some patience.

Falconbird Thu 05-Feb-15 09:56:17

A beautiful picture.

annodomini Thu 05-Feb-15 10:27:18

Lovely, Humbertbear. I'd have that on my wall any time.

I so envy people who can paint..

Lovely scenes both of you...

Galen Thu 05-Feb-15 10:41:08

pompa is that yours? It's lovely. I could live with that!

seacliff Thu 05-Feb-15 11:21:17

Great pictures, both. I'm sure they look even better in real life, wish I could paint.

pompa Thu 05-Feb-15 16:53:32

tanith Thu 05-Feb-15 17:04:09

Thats lovely pompa

POGS Thu 05-Feb-15 17:48:41

I am impressed. I can't even paint a wall and make a good job of it.

Anne58 Thu 05-Feb-15 18:33:29

I would love to be able to paint, or even take a photograph that comes out the way I see the subject!

I only seem to be able to be creative with words or pizzas!

(No, that isn't a typo!)

Sudden thought! (light bulb moment emoticon!) I could photograph one of my pizzas! (Would it count as art, though?)

Greyduster Thu 05-Feb-15 21:53:59

Watercolour of Dunwich beach, Suffolk, early morning. I love painting boats.

Eloethan Fri 06-Feb-15 00:51:29

Lovely paintings.

Grannyknot Fri 06-Feb-15 08:18:45

Lovely! Keep 'em coming. smile

rockgran Fri 06-Feb-15 09:25:18

Here goes - trying to capture some scenes from a recent trip to The Falkland Islands. This is Carcass Island.

rockgran Fri 06-Feb-15 09:27:32

Feels a bit like "show and tell". smile

annodomini Fri 06-Feb-15 10:09:20

That's such an evocative landscape, rockgran. Do I dare ask why it's called 'Caracass' Island?
phoenix, if you took a picture of one of your pizzas, it might well win the Turner Prize - alternatively, just enter the pizza for it.

annsixty Fri 06-Feb-15 10:16:18

Such talent amongst you.One of my school reports back in the mists of time, from the Art Master read " Ann is one of the very few pupils whose imagination I have failed to capture" so no submissions from me.

janerowena Fri 06-Feb-15 10:56:49

Such talent! I wish we had art classes around here. I would be there like a shot. My art teacher at school hated my painstakingly made drawings of plants, she only liked wild modern art.

rockgran Fri 06-Feb-15 11:09:31

Thank you all - it is called carcass island after a ship of that name. I know the name conjures up a horrid picture but in fact it is stunningly beautiful with white sand and turquoise sea. It has only one farm amd is a haven for bird life. In fact all of the Falkland Islands are surprisingly beautiful amd unspoilt.
