I think it says a lot about Richard Dwakins that he is reading that stuff out loud and allowing himself to be filmed doing it. Is he really so unsure of his standing?

Silly man.

Hilarious grin

granjura Fri 23-Jan-15 14:07:18

Glad you agree Anya ;)

I don't think it's at all funny. We know there are some sad individuals out there. Can't honestly see the point in sharing it.

granjura Fri 23-Jan-15 14:14:21

Didn't think you would jingl- but that's life, each to their own.

I think it illustrates rather well what happens when one group of people is stereotyped by a few extremists.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:15:27

He looks a bit like Julian Assange. [shudder]

Anya Fri 23-Jan-15 14:16:07

If you want a serious reason for sharing it, perhaps it's simply highlighting the hypocrisy of so-called Christians, who take the time to write such filth and spew out such hate.

Yes, they are a tiny minority like all extremists, but they exist. We do well to remember that.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:16:37

What happens? What group of people?

Anya Fri 23-Jan-15 14:17:09

PS Is RD gay?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:19:34

Maybe they just don't like him. I don't.

Obviously, they are not very successful Christians. Haven't quite got the hang of loving their neighbour.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:20:09

It seems he is. I didn't know that.

Anya Fri 23-Jan-15 14:21:33

I love that phrase 'successful Christians' Jingl grin

Mishap Fri 23-Jan-15 14:25:11

Is he gay? - I thought he was married with children - not that he could not still be gay. He wrote an open letter to his DD about the importance of reason.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:25:29

Well, we have to keep trying. grin

Mishap Fri 23-Jan-15 14:27:42

They do seem rather to have skipped over the love thy neighbour bit indeed. But this is what fundamentalists look and sound like from any religion.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:30:23

He's been married three times! Each time to a woman. Poor sods.

Mishap Fri 23-Jan-15 14:33:44

There are many agnositics (including me) and atheists who find Dawkins distasteful.

Ana Fri 23-Jan-15 14:37:47

I don't think he's gay, is he? He is a great supporter of the gay movement and gay rights generally, so I suppose that's as good a reason as any for some of those idiots to attack him.

granjura Fri 23-Jan-15 14:41:04

Does it make any difference if he is gay or not ??? Irrelevant dear Watson, no?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Jan-15 14:46:58

Just interesting. Same as it would be about anyone really. Human nature I guess.

Ana Fri 23-Jan-15 14:48:37

Someone raised a question, granjura. Rude to ignore it, no?

granjura Fri 23-Jan-15 14:53:54

O of course- but an un-necessary distraction from the subject. From what I can gather, Dawkins is not gay but he encouraged gay men to come out rather than be repressed as they were when religion(s) forced them to repress.

Anya Fri 23-Jan-15 14:59:52

The reason I raised it granjura was I wondered if these ranters knew something I didn't or whether they were completely nuts. Sort of 'don't let the truth get in the way' when you're spewing out hatred and curses.
