Just bought a product from the company that promise to help defy the 7 signs of ageing! Cant say I've noticed much difference yet, but then only had it a week. However it doesn't mention the 8th sign that I've spotted recently...the odd hair sprouting on my chin. I've tweaked the little sods intruders out with my tweezers but they grew back, naturally. Do other GNetters have this problems, if so how do they deal with it or is this a socially taboo subject?

PS gramps etc...do not want your suggestions please!!!!!!

Oh yes I've had this problem for years, and my method of removal is tweezers for the long ones and a razor for the rest!

I regularly bleach my moustache but the recalcitrant big black hairs I give a viscous tug to with the tweezers - ouch!!
I haven't the problem yet but if I got chin hair and could afford it I would have electrolysis in the hope of removing it permanently. I don't think it would be good to shave as this encourages the hair to grow back even more vigorously.

I've shaved for years because my skin reacts badly to creams, and no, they don't grow thicker, they are no different.

My eyebrows are wild things too!

Why are they so stiff and scratchy? I hate them! Failing eyesight doesn't help either. Despite having a magnifying mirror some still get missed until they're almost long enough to plait.

They say threading is good, but I dont like the idea of someone else's spit flicking off that thread urghh so 10x mag mirror and tweezers, but it is becoming more of a problem, might try waxing.

What started me thinking was the thread about looking in the mirror as its something I do almost first thing. Sunny days are horribly revealing. I often look at other older women and wonder if they don't know they have a hairy chin or just don't care. But the ones I am talking about are as notso said stiff and scratchy so I can feel them anyway.

I'm sitting here gently rubbing my chin. There is no permanent solution, I believe. If anyone finds one please publish on GN. Most of my friends started getting the odd chin hair in their late thirties.

I dispatch the chin hairs with tweezers, but for my moustache I have a gadget called a 'Whizzit' - it works a bit like an electric razor but actually plucks the hairs out. Yes, it is a bit painful, but worth it IMO!

Have a little moley thing on one of my chins ,but has sprouted a few hairs since puberty,my morning routine with magnifying mirror is to search and destroy with tweezers,same just on corners of top lip,fortunately I am fair so not too hairy,it's the little grey ones that are spiky little devils,am sitting here rubbing chins as we speak

Would hate to be a an with all that nose hair and ear fungus going on like trees emerging from their orifices..

Mine, too, are fair, and that can cause its own problems - sometimes I don't notice how many I've got until I happen to see my face from the side! (Then you can see them sticking out )

Have examined my face for years for signs of anything that gives offence or causes ridicule so have got quite adept at chin plucking,also have to check nostrils as well in case of stray bogie
