I have scoured the shops and the internet for some lightweight spring trousers for wearing on a city break to Barcelona next month. All I can find are skinny jeans, jeggings and straight leg trousers. I don't have straight/skinny legs!! Does anyone know where I can get some boot cut trousers PLEEEESE!!!

The assistant in Monsoon said cheerily when I bought a top' did you find everything your wanted today?' and when I said No I need trousers and you only have skinny legs ones she said 'Oh' so that was worth asking wasn't it? M & S only had straight leg and skinny ones too. At wits end, will be going to BC with bare bum at this rate. Please help!!!sad

Might be worth a quick look at the supermarket ranges, eg. Asda, Sainsbury's & Tesco?

Apologies if you have already looked there!

Palazzo trousers

They also have some boot cut too!

Matalan have quite a variety including boot cut and wide legged and you can shop on line if you don't have a local store.

According to the Tesco clothes site, culottes are very this season!

Beware buying from Sainsburys - their skinny trousers are not labelled as such! Have you tried Bon Marche, they do cater for normal sized women!!

Next are usually a good try, and Wallis', Debenhams might be worth a try. M&S on line if no go in store?

Ana Fri 30-Jan-15 16:06:24

M&S have lots of bootcut trousers online.

Tried to post a link but it went funny!

Straight leg are not the same as skinny. I used to wear boot cut but have changed to straight leg which seem more flattering on my size 16 bum and muscular thighs. I wear Not Your Daughter's Jeans, who do a few lightweight styles.

I know what you mean Teetime. I like boot cut trousers too. I am not very tall (short) and find boot cut trousers flatter and elongate your legs. I found some really nice cords in Cotton Traders, you could give them a try.

M&Co do a variety of trouser styles. They are also on line. x

I have fat legs. I get a lovely fit with Bon Marche boot leg jeans, size 16.

Have you tried Zara/H & M? Might be worth a Google search first to save you traipsing round shops.

Online look at the Landsend site. They always have good range of trousers in all shapes and sizes

Like shysal I recommend Not Your Daughter's Jeans. John Lewis stock them and they have lots of styles . They are a little pricey but well made, and you buy 2 sizes smaller than your usual size as they hold you right in!

I am short and have big legs, I find the wider the leg at the bottom the more 'squat' and 'dumpy' I look. I rather like my 'skinny jeans'.

Bon Marche has so many choices I would go there and try them on, you might be surprised how trousers you have never thought were suitable in fact are more flattering.

If you have no store nearby the internet is good and the phone help line is too.

Happy holiday by the way.

Rohan do something called Thai trousers...I've got three pairs from last year. They are lightweight, well cut for 'sturdy' legs and wash and dry very quickly. I wore them in South Africa and found them excellent for looking smart whilst travelling.

Marmight Fri 30-Jan-15 22:23:32

I have tubby legs and buy boot cut and straight leg jeans from Asda and M&S. They are comfy and stretchy. Give them a go!

Anya Fri 30-Jan-15 22:35:28

Just looked at the Thai trousers and they are gathered at the back. Prefer a fitted shape myself.

Agus Fri 30-Jan-15 22:57:34

M&S Indigo range straight leg denims are a good cut and as Marmight says, they are stretchy and very comfy.

Thank you all I think I am going to order several different pairs on line and try them on at home- I can always send them back. smile

Try Next, Debenhams and House of Frazer, there are some specialist shops in the last two stores.
Best of luck

Found and M & S pair of slim boot cut that seem ok- not really keen on the clinging look.

Plenty of boot cut trousers and jeans in my wardrobe from last time round (and the time before!)
