Just in case you've missed it - the dishy Montalbano has a new series this evening. BBC 4 at 9pm. Blimey!! - I'll be awake after 10pm!!

Marelli Sat 25-Aug-12 17:04:26

I'll be watching! smile

Anagram Sat 25-Aug-12 17:07:34

Hmm...might give it a go, there's nothing else on worth watching. Haven't seen it previously, but I'm assuming I'll be able to work out who's who?

Bez Sat 25-Aug-12 17:11:24

Yes you will be fine with the characters BUT you cannot close your eyes as it is all subtitles - unless you speak Italian of course. I have it on Sky plus and the series link.

Anagram Sat 25-Aug-12 17:12:49

No I don't speak Italian, but am pretty good at scanning subtitles! smile

JO4 Sat 25-Aug-12 17:16:48

Looks good (just watched clip). Will record it as it clashes with Casuality. grin

johanna Sat 25-Aug-12 17:21:15

Thanks gangy, did not know.
ana once you've clapped eyes on the inspector you will realise who's who!!!

Anagram Sat 25-Aug-12 17:25:14

grin johanna!

I've planned my Saturday evening around the return of the totally gorgeous Montalbano. I loved the previous series. What a treat.

petallus Sat 25-Aug-12 17:32:53

I'm up for Mantalbano. Thanks for the reminder.

soop Sat 25-Aug-12 18:01:32

Gorgeous! wink

vegasmags Sat 25-Aug-12 22:38:05

Wow, how I enjoyed the dropping of the pants!

gangy5 Sun 26-Aug-12 11:42:52

Wonder where the love interest has gone? Still enjoyed it - pure escapism and very workable plots. I sometimes watch British crime dramas and can't, at the end of it, make out what's gone on??

HildaW Sun 26-Aug-12 13:05:12

Its quite sweetly old fashioned, reminds me of watching Bergerac when it first came out. Think they have quite a tight production budget over there.

Mishap Sun 26-Aug-12 13:14:46

Montalbano at his very best - and with a buttocks bonus!

Anagram Sun 26-Aug-12 13:27:59

I can see that he's an attractive man, but he's carrying a bit too much weight for my taste - I prefer lean and rugged!
Lovely scenery though, and an easy to follow plot. I liked the odd bits of humour as well, which I hadn't been expecting.

Mamie Sun 26-Aug-12 19:41:59

Some dodgy subtitles though. I liked the beach being "unsurveilled".

petallus Sun 26-Aug-12 21:04:27

Just watched it (recorded). Sexy man and somehow the bandiness adds to that.

I like that the program has it's serious moments but is also quite funny.

I wonder if he had a bum double grin

soop Mon 27-Aug-12 17:36:49

Nah! petallus I'd swear it was his bum. I like the fact that he's not lean. He'd be lovely to cuddle...

Marelli Mon 27-Aug-12 17:44:07

He'd be half the size of me, but I wouldn't mind if he didn't! grinwink

HildaW Mon 27-Aug-12 19:47:53

Errrrr, found myself realising that I had watched something on the telly the other night that was oddly titilating. In a very gentle way of course. Gardners World had dear old Monty digging up a bit of lawn - yes sounds a bit tame but hey ho. The job ended up harder than he thought it would be and instead of editing away all his manly endeavours we sort of stayed watching him sweating over this piece of lawn. He was half laughing at himself in such a natural way. Perhaps I need to get out more but I went to bed thinking gentle thoughts about him getting all hot and bothered.

Marelli Mon 27-Aug-12 19:54:22

...was it you who was hot and bothered, Hilda....while you were thinking gentle thoughts about him - or have I miss-read your post? grin

harrigran Mon 27-Aug-12 20:04:33

Oh dear ! you really ought to have gone to specsavers grin

Ella46 Mon 27-Aug-12 22:38:33

I love Monty too! He just seems like the sort of man you could rely on blush

MaggieP Mon 27-Aug-12 23:24:11

I am glad to see you are all extolling the dear Inspector M's return. I too am so pleased the series is back, it's a delight to watch, especially him!
It doesn't pay to be sleepy however whilst watching, as if you miss the sub titles you lose the plot as I found out....smile
