and it switches to regional, and you either have to make the effort to turn back to non hi def or watch the hippos swimming round and listen to the water gurgling, and distant voices, can be the best part of the evening's viewing.

My OH keeps on telling me how wonderful HD is but honestly I don't even notice the difference... as long as I can see whats going on I don't worry switching here there and everywhere..

I've not been overwhelmed by HD, after all you don't see stuff in HD in real life. If what I'm watching is interesting I'm really not that fussed about the picture quality.

Umm... feel free to discuss the merits or otherwise of high def telly, but that wasn't what the thread was actually about.
