There is a new series this Autumn, the friends fifteen years on. I am unsure if I am pleased or not !

Teetime Tue 23-Aug-16 10:49:46

I love this series and am watching right from the beginning again on UKTV- really looking forward to see what's happened to all the characters.

I'm not sure about it either. The actors are now so familiar from other parts they've played that I don't know how well it will work.

Loved the original series though.

I have been watching the first of the re runs, which I missed, until I became hooked!

Are they going to do a 'Bobby Ewing' with Helen Baxindale's character?

Anniebach Tue 23-Aug-16 11:39:46

There has been one very short advert for it , shows five of them, no Rachel . Jen is back

J52 Tue 23-Aug-16 12:00:10

Thanks [Annie], I'd temporarily forgotten Rachel's name. We can only wait and see!

Saw the trailer on tv last night, I enjoyed the original series, hope this proves to be as good.

I loved the original and am really looking forward to the new series. I so hope I won't be disappointed.

Jane10 Tue 23-Aug-16 16:01:12

Oh no! Is it really 15 years shock

Anniebach Tue 23-Aug-16 16:07:35

I don't do maths, it finished about 2002/2003 , I think

Greyduster Tue 23-Aug-16 16:58:21

I loved James Nesbitt's character in the original series, but having seen him this year in The Secret, I think I'm going to have to work hard to see past that. I hope it's going to be good - so many of these things are resurrected and just end up disappointing, so fingers crossed.

I really enjoyed the first series, will wait and see how this series develops

LullyDully Tue 23-Aug-16 20:46:17

Just finished binging on the box set having not seen it originally.. I did enjoy it. Apparently Helen Baxendale refused to come back and that was a good decision.

Anniebach Tue 23-Aug-16 20:55:20

How could they have brought her back , she didn't hsve s twin

LullyDully Tue 23-Aug-16 22:15:22

I think they wanted to do that talk to a ghost stuff. But surely they don't age. Anyway she is staying put in Portmerion.

Anniebach Tue 23-Aug-16 22:16:59

A wise decision, I love Portmerion

Ana Tue 23-Aug-16 22:17:29

Does she actually live there? confused

rosesarered Tue 23-Aug-16 22:47:22

Is she a prisoner? grin

Szymon507 Wed 24-Aug-16 08:27:51

I love the series and I followed it with pleasure.

Anniebach Wed 24-Aug-16 08:51:09

Nooo Ana, she doesn't live in Portmerion, she was left there, well and in a pub and on the living room carpet and on the back seat of a car

HannahLoisLuke Wed 24-Aug-16 08:51:32

Loved the first five series and have them on DVD. Can't wait for the new series to begin and I'm glad they're not going to resurrect Rachel, that would have been silly. Besides, she was the only character I couldn't take to so glad she's not going to be in it.

LullyDully Wed 24-Aug-16 08:52:36

Portmerion is where they scattered her ashes. Can anyone explain How Adam went to school with Pete when he grew up in Manchester?

Teetime Wed 24-Aug-16 09:05:44

Don't know but Pete's Mum is Irish too does that help?

LullyDully Wed 24-Aug-16 16:58:18

But Pete is definitely brought up in Manchester with that accent and went to school with his first wife....suppose it doesn't matter really.

Anniebach Wed 24-Aug-16 17:16:30

Perhaps Adam came to Engkand in his early teens so they met then
