Ingredients

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped into small chunks
2 sheets puff pastry
2 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon or to taste
2 tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten

Handy Hint

Goes lovely with custard!

Method

Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
Put apples in a bowl with water, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
Cut pastry sheets in half diagonally. Place 1/4 of the apple filling in the centre of each pastry half.
Brush egg around the egdges to stick the pastry together. Prick the pastry with a fork and brush lightly with egg.
Bake until pastry is puffed and golden brown. Dust with icing sugar, if desired.
