Is it unreasonable to expect that DD speaks to me like an adult

Perhaps sometimes I come over as being a bit vague.....! My son in particular, speaks very quickly, and has quite a broad Fife accent! I can take a few moments to process in my mind, what he has said - and by that time he's moved on to the next thing. By the time I reply to him, I'm replying to the wrong comment! confused

We were never like that with our parents! We're we?

Yes, my daughter can be quite bossy with me. Sometimes I reply sharply, but mainly I just let it go.

Do you find that sometimes, the way you are spoken to by your 'children' can be quite patronising? hmm

Oh glass - Grrrrr! No wonder you're angry. Hope it's a one-off.

I get that from my bossy teacher DD also. I have just learned to zip it, which is most unlike me!
