Oh, I do love you all! It's the twists and turns that our lighter conversations take that brighten up the day!

Good morning smile

Good night, and don't waste time and energy arguing with that bloke it's not worth the time and energy save the energy for something enjoyable (like another vodka)!!

Cucumbers? Martians? I can't cope after today! I'm going mad!
I DO hope I have a better day tomorrow?
But somehow, I feel I'm not going to be in the best of moods tomorrow!
I think for all our sakes, I'll stay off GN until I've recovered!

I said I didn't like working 4 days!
I did warn you angry

POGS Wed 16-May-12 20:14:56

glassortwo.

I could be very, very rude. I knew a good joke about a martian but that's for another day.

glassortwo Wed 16-May-12 20:10:19

Its not a phrase that annoys me its cucumber, dont laugh grin why do they have to wrap it in plastic, I have a grumble every time I unwrap a cucumber and it happens often in this house as both GC love it.

jeni Wed 16-May-12 20:01:59

And it's only the union jack when flown at a jackstaff, otherwise it's the union flag!
Sorry to be pedantic, but it's one phrase that really annoys me!
I'm sure we all have one, or more.
What are yours?

nanaej Wed 16-May-12 20:00:46

used to know which way was up once! confused

jeni Wed 16-May-12 19:59:39

POGS no it's flares. You did ask?

glassortwo Wed 16-May-12 19:56:33

A cry for help jeni

POGS Wed 16-May-12 19:56:10

In that case thank goodness we have the Lifeboats and flairs (is that the right spelling or is it the shape of jeans?). If we had to rely on us knowing which way up the union jack flies we would probably all drown.

jeni Wed 16-May-12 19:50:42

grin flying the flag upside down is a signal of distress at sea! Perhaps the Greeks were signalling distress?

Annobel Wed 16-May-12 19:43:04

Didn't watch it, so didn't notice. When Diana died, the flag on our town hall was flying upside down. Being a Councillor at the time, I leapt into action, went to see the chief exec's PA and within minutes it was the right way up. Such a relief it was not one of the opposition that spotted it!

jeni Wed 16-May-12 19:35:07

grin

Ariadne Wed 16-May-12 19:32:36

To expect that the Union Flag, being flown in Athens, at the handover of the Olympic flame, should be flown the right way up? If they're making such a fuss about it, why can't they get it right??
