yes absent I remember reading those threads now.
Was just so angry on his behalf, I put finger to keyboard before engaging brain grin (steps down from soapbox)

Proud to say DD made sure extended family knew first.

ninathenana We've had discussions on this subject before and pretty much came to the conclusion that Facebook is such a way of life for that generation, it simply doesn't occur to them that not contacting their own parents directly can seem hugely hurtful and thoughtless.

My DD has just rung me to say she'd read on FB that her cousin's wife had had her 2nd baby. Great, good news but...............

I spoke to my brother at 11 am this morning and he clearly didn't know he had a new DGG sad angry brother and wife have been divorced for about 20yrs but he's still the grandad, and nephew knows where to go when he wants something !

She was born at 9.15am. Why hadn't they rung him.
