How about this for a banishing the blues quickie - home-made corned beef hash with peas. Mash up a tin of corned beef and add some baked beans, add a stock cube, pinch of garlic powder and squirt of tomato sauce. Cook slowly until nice and thick, but not burnt, top-off in an oven dish with mashed potato and put in the oven-grill for 15/20 minutes to brown-off, taking care against burning. Add some grated cheese if you wish. With a nice glass or two of red wine and some peas, food for the gods indeed, very quick and simple. Only trouble is, there's never enough!
