AIBU to be annoyed by certain posters putting their political views on threads that were not intended for that.

NanaandGrampy Mon 09-Oct-17 21:49:12

I’d be surprised if he sat down.......

Charleygirl Mon 09-Oct-17 21:46:56

N&G I did ask earlier if he had a suitcase sitting beside his desk.

NanaandGrampy Mon 09-Oct-17 21:43:08

If I was Tom....... I’d have run for the hills smile

Charleygirl Mon 09-Oct-17 21:42:08

Will Tom be coming back to work tomorrow?

NanaandGrampy Mon 09-Oct-17 21:33:59

grin

Christinefrance Mon 09-Oct-17 21:18:20

Probably a nightmare N & G

NanaandGrampy Mon 09-Oct-17 21:08:26

I wonder what Toms Gran is like if he has one ? We’re we a surprise ......or a shock :-) !

trisher Mon 09-Oct-17 20:45:10

That would be a thread about a thread abut a thread! Tom woudn't be happy. (Do you suppose he's gone home yet and did he need a stiff drink?)

grin

Looking forward to the hijacked hijacked threads thread.

Hmm, I started a thread about fake hand holding on property programmes, someone posted on it about some sort of relationship problem confused which was not even remotely connected to the OP! smile I wasn't bothered, I think that it may have been a new member who just read the thread title and jumped in!

Although I don't know the thread referred to (must read and check) it, it would seem on the surface that to bring politics into a non political thread is a bit off.

trisher Mon 09-Oct-17 19:19:56

Hush! political discussion has been banned!

Maggiemaybe Mon 09-Oct-17 19:19:50

I'm not annoyed in this case. The thread's an interesting one and has taken several twists and turns. It's not a support thread. It happened gradually, and I can't see that it's at all like someone cutting on on a private conversation.

Anniebach Mon 09-Oct-17 19:16:09

Eleothan, have you adjusted your figures on your rather long list of political threads , the list where you included me as right wing, an untruth / cheating ?

trisher Mon 09-Oct-17 19:06:54

It's a bloody forum wildswan16 if you want private conversations try using PMs

Izzywizzy Mon 09-Oct-17 19:04:03

Well said wildswan16

trisher Mon 09-Oct-17 18:59:17

It really isn't and I'm really not. You can see lots of my posts about different things if you bother to look. It just amuses me that someone thinks posting that they don't like political posters is some sort of interesting information. I don't like boring people but I don't make a big thing about it and I don't keep posting about it.

Chewbacca Mon 09-Oct-17 18:58:51

Or a narrow outlook perhaps? Nothing else going on in life except politics? No family/life experiences/humour/films/theatre etc? I'd find it rather dull to be centred on only one topic but there's nowt so odd as folk!

Christinefrance Mon 09-Oct-17 18:54:23

Think it must be some sort of compulsion to be totally centred on politics

Chewbacca Mon 09-Oct-17 18:50:25

There we go......

Eloethan Mon 09-Oct-17 18:47:56

Yes, that thread was certainly a good example of a non-political thread being used to have a cheap (and erroneous) shot at the contribution of left wingers on political threads.

wildswan16 Mon 09-Oct-17 18:47:01

It's really just the same as two people having a perfectly innocuous conversation and someone else coming along and barging in with a totally irrelevant remark and trying to turn it to something they want to talk about. It's just rude.

Chewbacca Mon 09-Oct-17 18:42:05

Couldn't agree more christinefrance. One poster suggested that those of us who don't like political posts should "post something more interesting then". When I replied that that had been attempted I was told "That's not interesting"! grin
I don't mind reading the political subjects if they're in the News and Politics forums but when they leech out into other subjects too, it's a complete turn off.

FarNorth Mon 09-Oct-17 18:38:38

Eight minutes have passed.... smile

lemongrove Mon 09-Oct-17 18:30:52

This thread will become political in about five mins.?
