Xrgran - so glad you enjoyed your stay in Bristol. How do you feel about the man who was unable to be with his dying father, the people who missed hospital appointments, those late for chemotherapy sessions, not to mention those held up for hours in traffic jams. Why was it deemed a good idea to block a main road into Bristol, leading to 4 major hospitals? When there was a huge fire north of Bristol which closed roads, why was XR action planned for that area not cancelled to prevent even further chaos?

The blockade of the M32 was not included in the agreement with the police or the city council

Any support XR had amongst Bristol residents was quickly wiped out - check out the comments in the local newspaper.

I have never understood why new houses are not built with solar panels as a matter of course - if they are facing the right way, of course.
Better public transport that works for everyone - cancel HS2 and spend the money on good transport for all areas.
And why do so many lights need to be left on 24 hours per day? Many street lights are left on 24 hours pd but they seem totally inept at doing anything about it.
Why do people wear t shirts indoors in winter with the central heating on full blast?

Why is anyone saying Extinction Rebellion are aggressive ? We start our meetings by a check in when we tell each other what we are grateful for or something wonderful that’s happened to us. We have a system of making sure every voice is heard not just the loudest and we all have training in non-violent direct action.On actions we have volunteers who check on the welfare of protestors and offer food and drink to not only protestors but those who are held up.

Well I am one! So are many of my dear friends who’ve given up their spare time last week to go up to Bristol!
These are the most caring and sincere people you could ever come across and it makes me feel very emotional when I remember standing together on Southwark Bridge in November feeling part of such an amazing movement.

I’ve spent years writing letters and emails and handling out leaflets and it hasn’t worked. Our options are running out.

Is he hoping to go to university next year? Will he be taking subjects that may help solve some of our problems? If so, perhaps you can all persuade him that he can put his energies into helping to save the planet in a practical way by finding solutions rather than demonstrating?
