When did it become a "right" for families to have holidays? How is a child (or a family) deprived if they don't have holidays - in the UK or abroad?
I am totally against taking children out of school during term time - although I take on board the observation about teacher training/polling days etc.
I wonder how the parents would feel if teachers who are parent, decided four time a year that they didn't fancy paying school holiday prices and went off on holiday themselves, leaving the children to muddle though as best they could.
I suspect there would be a huge outcry from the parents - including those who take their own children out during term time.
