I love my husband dearly and we've been married for 43 years so got used to each others' foibles. I know I've become an irate old girl in recent years but the one thing that really aggravates me is my husband's trousers!
Let me explain. We've both put on some weight (who hasn't?) over the years, even before Covid. My husband always has belts in his trousers but the problem is that, when he's purchased trousers, he has bought ones that fit the size of his waist (waist? belly would be a more accurate term). Sounds good in theory but, in practice, the trousers drop down to his hips which are narrower.
It's bad enough when we're at home in our flat and he's having to yank the trousers up. It's worse on the very few occasions we're out and about. He walks with one walking stick and walks slower than me. However, he'll be walking along and stop, (or might not even stop walking) and attempt to yank the trousers up, and this'll happen 3 or 4 times while we're walking along.
I get quite angry with him because it looks so awful when we're out (not that we go out that much). I told him that maybe he should use braces and got told he didn't need them. I also suggested that maybe he should start buying trousers that fitted his hips rather than his belly size, which met with disapproval, too!
Am I the only person that puts up with this?
