Any one have good ideas on how to make little horns for a Halloween troll?
- and how to keep them on?

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 16:57:53

You could make the solid horn shape out of tin foil scrunched to the right shape around a pipe cleaner with a good bit of that left sticking out at the base of the horn. Cover with tissue or crepe paper to the colour you want and fix the sticking out bit of pipe cleaner to a headband?

Are you going to a party?

Or trying to frighten your neighbours?

What about flower arranging stuff in a cone shape and carve it into horns? Not sure how you'd stick them to a headband though.

I'm staying here for a party..... He's going out on Halloween.
Notso, this sounds like a plan!
I haven't had pipecleaners for years, where would I get them?

I am afraid that I would just buy a hairband complete with horns from any supermarket or pound shop and maybe customise the horns to suit costume.

Mmm...I was thinking that myself, Granny23, but didn't want to stand in the way of creativity!

I don't think trolls have horns – or are you a goat?

AlieOxon Wed 24-Oct-12 18:15:19

HE wants horns!
Can you really buy them ready grown?

Ella46 Wed 24-Oct-12 18:16:31

I think you can buy horns on a headband along with all the other Halloween stuff in shops like Clintons,W.H Smith and supermarkets. Much easier.

Sorry granny23 I missed your post smile

Craft shops sell pipe cleaners or big supermarkets in the toys/crafts section.
Asda have horns on headbands ready to rock and roll.

AlieOxon Wed 24-Oct-12 18:22:30

Never thought of Smiths. 99p shop is near.
Asda is a bit far from here but we may try it.
Thanks!

Tesco has a lot of Halloween stuff. I don't know about horns, but then I wasn't looking for them.

WHEN DO WE GET THE HALLOWEEN EMOTICONS BACK?

Anne58 Wed 24-Oct-12 20:40:43

Ex dh made me some very good horns out of cardboard attached to a head band thingy (you, know the ones with little teeth like a comb?)

It was for a work Christmas do where the them was "A night at the Oscars"

I wore a beautiful evening dress, the horns on the headband and a clip on- earring on that bit between your nostrils.

I was supposed to be Sandra Bullock.

grin phoenix!

Anne58 Wed 24-Oct-12 20:44:23

IT'S TRUE! I even won a prize! I like thinking up quirky fancy dress ideas, I've made costumes for horses too.

I'm making my debut on 31st as a historical witch rising from a bin - of all things, in front of groups of 30 people!
