Finished my rainbow stashbuster blanket, but...

...I still have a hefty stash left!
(I feel some Twiddle Muffs coming on.)

Still here it is, 4 quarters joined. I couldn’t find a neat way to join multicoloured non-fringe edges, so knitted a band to cover the join.
It will go to Gdcs next time we see them. Just as well my dd isn’t precious about her decor - she loves lots of colour!

Superb piece of work, you can be very proud! You could use up odd bits of wool by knitting the grandchildren some of Jean Greenhowe's animals? smile

That’s very impressive Witzend. I love the rainbow colours. It just proves what can be done with our bags of stash.

I wish I could, *@B9exchange, but their house is awash with soft toys, not to mention the other kind!

I think it’ll have to be more twiddle muffs now. I did make some for the local hospital, but there’s a dementia care home I will ask, too.

It’s lovely Witzend, very cheery on a day like today.

It's lovely Witzend
Your GDC will love it.

That's brilliant, Witzend! I think the stash breeds when you're not looking though, so no matter how many blankets or twiddle muffs you make, it'll always be following you around... hmm

DanniRae Thu 29-Oct-20 16:58:40

Well done! That is a lovely blanket smile

You are so talented, i hope you are proud of your creation x

Bathsheba Thu 29-Oct-20 17:27:09

Wow, this is great! Well done, it really is lovely, and I do love how you've left all the ends as a fringe - very effective!

Billybob4491 Thu 29-Oct-20 17:38:54

That looks great Witzend I am knitting Father Christmas's like there is no tomorrow!

Nanof3 Thu 29-Oct-20 17:42:28

What are twiddle muffs? I have never heard of them.

Beechnut Thu 29-Oct-20 17:50:56

They are for dementia patients Nanof3.

Witzend Thu 29-Oct-20 18:27:27

It was miles easier than sewing them all in, @Bathsheba!

Witzend Thu 29-Oct-20 18:31:49

If anybody wants one, there’s a good twiddle muff pattern if you google Oxford University Hospitals Twiddle Muffs - at least that’s where I found mine.
They’re brilliant for using up odds and ends.

I just wish I’d found out about them a few years sooner, when my poor mother might have benefited.

Witzend Thu 29-Oct-20 18:43:52

How many FCs are you making, @Billybob? I made 3, one’s going to the school Christmas raffle (online, no fair this year ?), one for Gdcs and one for son in law’s little niece.

I don’t know what I’d have done without my Christmas knitting during lockdown, but it did feel very weird at first to be knitting such things in April! I soon got over that, though.

Thanks, I will look for the pattern, I'm sure I can find lots of wool.

What a beautiful blanket.

Very good Witzend. Is it in stocking stuffer or garter.

Sparkling Tue 03-Nov-20 19:46:50

Stocking stitch.

NotAGran55 Tue 03-Nov-20 21:40:35

Simply WOW ? I love it .

Grandmafrench Tue 03-Nov-20 21:48:00

I love this.....really beautiful colour mix. Something to treasure forever !

Witzend Wed 04-Nov-20 07:47:33

It’s just garter stitch, @Sparkling - 2 row stripes and a fringe so no ends to sew in. Except when I wasn’t paying attention (watching TV) and cut the yarn after only one row, but only a few of those.
