Helping my OH in some way cos he is always trying to help me...

Glad you corrected yourself Grannylin
The other one that annoys me is reading that a person has been diagnosed with a condition.
Doctors diagnose the condition, not the person.
Why can't journalists simply say 'A (the person) is suffering from B' or even 'A has B'
Sorry.
I know that language changes and also that I should restrain myself unless actually in Pedants' Corner.

Agree with Jeni , Moved.
I had to be very careful with my posture when I was working and the trick is to maintain a concave curve in your lower back, ie the opposite of what you do when bending over to touch your toes.
Hope it's better soon.

Bags I understand perfectly, I feel the same. I had enough of not feeling good about myself during my first marriage, and I never want to feel that again, we all do our best.

High five, Bags smile

Unless I have done something stupid or mean or careless, I always feel good about myself. That isn't meant to sound as awful as it probably does! I'm not boasting; I've just accepted that on the whole I do my best. I was brought up to live like that and I do. It doesn't mean I'm perfect – far from it – but I don't have much to feel "not good" about myself for.

I hope that makes sense to somebody! I'm sure others feel like this too.

Well don't try again when you're fit. ITS NOT A GOOD THING TO DO!

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 16:41:35

It really wasn't touching my toes which did for my back. Seems to have been the flight to Schipol Jeni

nanapug Tue 15-Jan-13 16:05:27

Having a good huck out in my house, so it is lovely and tidy with no unwanted stuff round.

cheelu Tue 15-Jan-13 15:49:03

Mishap I am terrible with doing things like that I just wouldnt stick to it, and would be embarrased by my singing while others sang better than me.

It was a bit like when I went keep fit, it was so funny they were all going one way and I was going the other, just couldnt show my face again but I did laugh about it afterwards, honestly you should have been there it was really funny.. x

jeni Tue 15-Jan-13 15:45:59

Wow! Not surprised you've got a bad back then. Touching your toes is VERT BAD for your back.

Getting overdue jobs done around the house (doesn`t happen very often!)

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 15:23:18

Jeni if you are asking about new things I have achieved the most recent ones have been touching my toes with my legs straight and learning to get in and out of the swimming pool without using the steps and swimming 20 lengths. Can't do either at the moment with bad back grin

Mishap Tue 15-Jan-13 15:06:47

cheelu - why don't you find a local community choir? - they are great fun, non-auditioned and spreading all around the country. I am sure that there would be one near you.

cheelu Tue 15-Jan-13 15:03:00

Oh Mishap I love singing, I always have, even when I was little, I wanted to be a singer but my singing isnt too good unfortunatly, but I will still give it a go, I usually sing in the mornings to myself when I wake up for some reason--My Dad loved singing to himself so maybe thats were it came from x x

Mishap Tue 15-Jan-13 14:57:55

When I sing - it has been my lifetime's joy and I am very lucky that my voice is holding up even at the grand old age of 64!
