Was just reading about black women that use various lotions and potions to lighten their skin, saw before and after pictures of black celebs that have used it. I think its sad, why not be proud of who you are, what do you think..

I used to work with children in a residential home, it was for children with severe learning disability and autism. One girl's mother used to often come in with a bottle of skin lightening lotion and insist that we lighten her daughter's skin with it. We, of course, declined. The girl was a beautiful black girl.

I imagine years of prejudice and European colonialism has probably made the peoples that were subjected to this long to be as pale as possible.
Very sad. Very dark black skin can look very beautiful.
