Scalp micropigmentation for thin hair

I'm considering having scalp micropigmentation carried out to improve the appearance of my hair which has always been thin on top.

If any of you have had this done, it would be really helpful to hear about your experience of it, and whether or not you were pleased with the results.

Sounds a good idea when you first read about it, but then you get to the bit which says use sunscreen after the initial 28:days keeping out of the sun. I wouldn’t want my hair to look greasy with sunscreen

My daughter has to keep her scalp out of the sun (she has Infiltrative Basal Cell Carcinoma) also because she has a bald patch. She wears a hat in the sun, isn't that an option instead of sunscreen?

I think micropigmentation for thin hair sounds like a good idea. I have no experience of it though.

That should be "has had..." it was removed, hence the bald patch.

Is it permanent? What happens when your hair goes white? My hair is a bit thin on the crown so it sounds appealing but my hair is grey and before long it will be white.

I know someone close who had hair transplants. The hair was taken from the back and placed at the front, creating a new hairline. They became very swollen in the face and had two black eyes, but the hair has been growing nicely (albeit slowly) and they are pleased with the result. Aside from the pain, the expenses are ongoing and specialist products will always be needed. They look great, but it takes months for the results to look 'normal'. He does look great though, and feels much more confident. Of course, there's the thin patch at the back but it's not too bad. I'm not sure it's the same procedure you're considering, but it gives you an idea and hope it is helpful.
