The front page is all mashed up. It's out of warranty so I've had to pay fifty quid for a new replacement. sad

It was in a proper Amazon kindle cover too!

Oh sugar! sigh.

My son uses his to read in bed (and everywhere else!) forgot he had put it on the floor and stepped on it.

Is it synced to your PC/laptop/smartphone? If it is, you should be ok until your new one arrives. smile

Ahhh no jingle £50 for the front?

gracesmum Sat 11-Feb-12 14:07:05

{{{hug}}}I decided to shell out for the insurance as I have a habit of dropping my phone down the loo (back pocket of jeans syndrome) and didn't want to tempt fate.
Hope your new one arrives soon.

I have just got mine back from FIL but I am in a quandary half a book read on Kindle and half of the GN book of the month read ohhh what do I do!!!!!!!!

whatisamashedupphrase Sat 11-Feb-12 14:12:46

Glass I get a whole new one for the £50. If its the latest version that arrives, it would have been £89. If the same version as I've got now comes (with little keyboard on front) that would be £149. So can't complain really.

Very nice young (sounding) bloke, I spoke to. smile (every cloud... smile)

Jacey Sat 11-Feb-12 15:12:40

That nice young man I spoke to is going to do it for me. (or one of his mates) smile He said they will all be there, in Archive. smile

Next decision is whether to tell DH.

Decision made!

jeni Sat 11-Feb-12 15:30:40

How did you come to drop it?

whatisamashedupphrase Sat 11-Feb-12 15:41:11

Didn't exactly drop it. Balanced it on the upstairs bannister while I went in the lav.

Should have been alright.

It's a thing
Called gravity
If yo try
To defy it
You'll find that
It falls!

Newton tried with apples! Or was it fish?

whatisamashedupphrase Sat 11-Feb-12 16:25:35

Libradi Sat 11-Feb-12 18:33:47

I decided to break the habit of a lifetime and buy the insurance..I couldn't bear to be without my 'baby'.. sad

Ariadne Sun 12-Feb-12 09:30:41

I would miss it too; although I have the kindle app on the iPad the kindle is much more convenient. Not a bad deal, though, eh jingl?

whatisamashedupphrase Sun 12-Feb-12 10:31:30

Not so bad as having to pay the full price for a replacement Ariadne. But, I have to send the old one back to them. I'll bet they will repair it and sell it on as a renovated one so they will not be out of pocket.

Bit sad to part with it. Birthday pressie from son. sad
