What happened about your slipper then? (thought you hadn't been on here for some time. Was this why?)

susiecb Mon 20-Feb-12 16:20:50

Oh my Lord notso - hope you are fully recovered and found yourself a stout pair of house shoes now. Slippers are really only for bedroom wear.thanks

Thank you susie. smile I am now boringly but suitably shod.

I was barefoot when I fell, as usually I am surer footed then!

Ariadne Mon 20-Feb-12 17:00:06

Last time I wandered about barefoot, one hot summer's day (remember them?) I stubbed my little toe, and broke it, on the corner of a pine trunk. Oh, it hurt SO much!

jeni Mon 20-Feb-12 17:02:41

Ouch! [sympathy]emoticon!

I've done that Ariadne only it was the corner of the piano. Who would think such a small thing could hurt so much!!

Notsogrand Mon 20-Feb-12 17:24:56

Ouch to small toes!

I've given up on slippers and now always wear crocs around the house. Nice coloured ones. And I can go outside to the washing line, the bin or anywhere else without having to change shoes and they are SO comfortable

I love my crocs; I know they are ugly but they are perfect for me and my crummy feet!

shysal Tue 21-Feb-12 12:09:24

Hope you Croc wearers use the heel strap, otherwise they can be as dangerous as any other mules.

There's nothing like having five cats weaving around your ankles, then stopping, then going and weaving again as you totter downstairs first thing in the morning to put your bones and body at risk. So far, so good… I once broke both bones in my lower leg falling into what amounted to a gutter – and I had had only a glass or two. What did the damage was pulling my over 6-foot then husband over on top of my slightly folded leg as we were holding hands at the time.
