And then think I can’t believe I did not know that!!”

Today I learnt from another post that St George’s day is moveable not always on 23rd April, felt should have known as it is my Birthday!

The hole in the middle of a “pasta spoon” is one portion of dried pasta spaghetti.

Pineapples don't grow on trees.

ninathenana Tue 23-Apr-19 18:43:41

I read this morning that it is postponed if it falls in Easter week as saint's days are not celebrated in Holy Week.

MiniMoon Tue 23-Apr-19 18:57:49

GG, my pasta spoon doesn't have a hole, except for the little drainage holes.?

As an aside_May and Corbyn have both tweeted Happy St George's day.

What I have found out is that it is also National Asparagus day

Mr P has gone right off asparagus since he discovered it makes your wee smell funny.

He thought at first that he had some odd illness..............

angelic Tue 23-Apr-19 22:27:07

Didn’t even know Asparagus had a day?
Let alone makes your wee smell funny

There are more special days than there are days in a year!

crazyH Tue 23-Apr-19 22:32:26

Did you know that Aubergines turn black when cooked ?

crazyH Tue 23-Apr-19 22:37:23

Did you know that Flushing as infrequently as possible (and keeping the lid down when you do) can seriously cut back on how many germs are floating around your bathroom.
And saves you money

KatyK Tue 23-Apr-19 22:47:39

I didn't know until recently that if you push in the end bits of a box of kitchen foil, it will hold the foil in place. I am nearly 70 blush

grannyqueenie Tue 23-Apr-19 22:54:30

That makes me feel loads better, KatyK, I only discovered that out about 2 weeks ago, I’m 69 this year, I’ve obviously lived a sheltered life!

Eglantine21 Tue 23-Apr-19 22:57:34

Wow! That will revolutionise how I use foil?

KatyK Tue 23-Apr-19 22:59:50

I'm glad it's not just me! My DD said 'mum what do you think the little push in flaps are for?' Erm... I hadn't noticed them.

Maybelle Tue 23-Apr-19 23:05:40

Wow, have never spotted the flaps at the ends of the foil box !
And there are also flaps on the cling film box, I guess for the same reason.

Eglantine21 Tue 23-Apr-19 23:06:54

No!

Oh happy day ???

KatyK Tue 23-Apr-19 23:09:20

Well I hadn't thought about the cling film but yes of course! My cling film is rolling about in the drawer out of its box. Blimey!

KatyK Tue 23-Apr-19 23:14:17

If it doesn't work, I apologise!

SparklyGrandma Tue 23-Apr-19 23:21:56

It does work KatyK and I only discovered the little flaps in a foil box about 9 years ago....

KatyK Tue 23-Apr-19 23:26:20

Oh good. Can't think why I didn't us it on the cling film when I discovered the foil thing. confused

Joelsnan Tue 23-Apr-19 23:34:15

I Didn't know for a long while that the petrol pump light in my car has a little arrow at the side of it which shows which side of car the petrol cap is so you know which side of the pump to pull up at. A revelation...especially if you get a new or hire car.
