Went shopping with a friend today and bought some new sheets. Friend said something along the lines that it will be nice to sleep in new sheets tonight. Now I always wash new sheets before I use them - please tell me I am not the only one who does that (Friend was very surprised when I told her!)

Don’t wash brand new sheets, only new towels before I use
them, not absorbent till washed.

Yes always, just feel I want to wash out any products used during the process and let them blow in the fresh air.

crazyH Sat 08-Jun-19 12:35:29

Yes, I do although I don't think it's necessary.

I always wash new sheets and pillowcases as I can’t bear the feel of them straight from the packet .

Maggiemaybe Sat 08-Jun-19 13:27:01

I’m with you, Luckygirl! No unnecessary work done here.

MiniMoon Sat 08-Jun-19 13:31:51

I never wash new bedding. I do wash and tumble dry new towels though. It makes them soft and more absorbent.

Debcz Sat 08-Jun-19 15:02:29

BlueSapphire Sat 08-Jun-19 15:09:15

Never wash new sheets, towels or underwear. Has never occurred to me.

Auntieflo Sat 08-Jun-19 15:20:26

Debcz, that is what my mum used to say and do.
But I don’t wash new bedding, or towels blush

Buffybee Sat 08-Jun-19 15:30:53

Yes! I always wash new sheets, towels and underwear.
A friends husband wore a new T-shirt in a hot country and went a long walk in the mountains and at the end of the day his body was covered in a red rash.
Apparently there is a finish washed into some of them, I think it's called Size, to make them appear more crisp on the hanger and his sweat re-acted with it.
His body was a mess!

3dognight Sat 08-Jun-19 15:51:23

It would not have occurred to me. But there again, it does not occur to me wash them that often when they are on the bed!

Calendargirl Sat 08-Jun-19 15:55:48

No, I don’t wash new bedding. I like the crisp feel when they’re new.

BlueBelle Sat 08-Jun-19 16:17:34

No they re new !! Why would I ? I never would wash anything new I don’t get it, it’s new why would you feel the need to wash something that’s brand spanking new

ginny Sat 08-Jun-19 17:43:03

Ditto BlueBelle.
