make bramble jelly! What a faff! Ruined a top , used loads of hard won blackberries and ended up with less than 2 pots of jam. What’s your life’s too short comment?

PS Some Grans may be too young to remember the original saying ‘ to stuff a mushroom’

Ironing. I'm annoyed with myself that I spent so much time in the past doing it.

KatyK Sun 18-Aug-19 13:12:20

Worry. I'm a serial worrier.

Continue reading a book I'm not enjoying. No matter how many prizes it's won or rave reviews it's had.

Luckygirl Sun 18-Aug-19 13:38:38

- ironing
- cleaning
- making beds for them to sit there all day with no-one in them or even seeing them.
- cleaning the car - it goes along very happily whilst dirty.
- tidying - I like to see books, crosswords and all the other parephanalia (?sp) of life strewn about.
- dusting - until there is a nice layer that can be banished with a satisfying sweep of the duster!
- drying crocks - I am a great believer in leaving things to drain and dry themselves.
- spending hours cooking only to see it all eaten in a flash.

Housewife of the Year 2019 - that's me! grin

I so agree about finishing reading a book that you are not enjoying. Why did I used to do that?

Oldandverygrey Sun 18-Aug-19 13:45:33

Life's too short to bear grudges.

shysal Sun 18-Aug-19 14:17:53

Most of what Luckygirl said. Also:
Peel a potato.
Peel or wash a mushroom.
Shave the parts of my legs that don't show.

Lona Sun 18-Aug-19 14:22:52

I only put fake tan from the knees down!
I live alone grin

KatyK Sun 18-Aug-19 14:30:05

Me too Lona and I don't live alone.blush

GabriellaG54 Sun 18-Aug-19 14:53:38

Life's far too short to do anything I don't really want to do...and too short to worry.
Worry makes you ill and gets you nowhere.

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 14:55:30

Bramble jelly is worth making grin

I usually get several pots; it's a good way of using up last year's blackberries still lurking in the freezer.

Doing ironing!
Steam cleaning the floors

Atqui Sun 18-Aug-19 14:57:21

The blackberries had been lurking! But next time I’ll just make jam ( with apple)
I agree about worry , but can’t stop it !!

mumofmadboys Sun 18-Aug-19 14:57:32

I agree worrying is a total waste of time! If only my head was more amenable to reason!!

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 14:59:27

Washerwoman
I'm trying to make that my new resolution, having struggled through several books then thought I wish I hadn't bothered. I've just deleted several from my Kindle, including Wolf Hall (started, disliked the style of writing) and feel much better now.
smile

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 15:00:45

I am putting off making the bramble jelly though!

MawB Sun 18-Aug-19 15:24:45

...read posts which take up more than the whole of my iPad screen!

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 15:44:55

Especially when copied and pasted from some newspaper article which is, in fact, only someone's opinion anyway.

Bring on links I say, then we can skip past them!

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-Aug-19 15:48:44

.......to worry about things I have no control over.

.......to accept invitations I do not want to attend.

........to care what people think of me!

Luckygirl Sun 18-Aug-19 16:08:49

- to bother with make-up
- to wear posh clothes

I sound more of a slut by the minute grin
