For all needing a smile and an aaw ???moment?
A baby gibbon and his teddy bear surrogate mum.

That’s a bit sad tbh

Yehbutnobut Fri 01-Nov-19 08:41:42

I find that sad too ?

MawB Fri 01-Nov-19 08:51:46

Oh well, I tried sad

wildswan16 Fri 01-Nov-19 09:04:22

It's sweet, and although sad that he has presumably very cruelly lost his mum, at least some kind people have rescued him.

MawB Fri 01-Nov-19 09:06:45

TBH I have no idea if he has actually lost his mum, one report said he had been separated from her at birth but the zoo planned to reunite them ASAP.
I just thought it made a nice change from the backbiting, bitchiness and intolerance of some threads.
Perhaps some people prefer them. sad

I loved it - sometimes you can overthink things IMO.

Beechnut Fri 01-Nov-19 09:10:27

Sometimes we all need a ‘teddy*.

Roses Fri 01-Nov-19 09:17:58

It made me smile because he is so sweet

EllanVannin Fri 01-Nov-19 09:24:22

So lovely.

Urmstongran Fri 01-Nov-19 09:28:31

Very cute pic. Sad reason, but cute.

wildswan16 Fri 01-Nov-19 09:56:31

Don't stop trying MawB, we all need something to smile at on a cold, wet, miserable, 1st November morning.

Mapleleaf Fri 01-Nov-19 10:02:02

It is a cute picture Maw.
I hope the reuniting with his Mum works. They will have had sound reasons for separating them, I'm sure.

annodomini Fri 01-Nov-19 10:07:01

It's good to know that the baby had some comfort, even if there was a sad reason behind the story.

Witzend Fri 01-Nov-19 11:43:47

I like it, MawB!
Yes, it's sad that he can't be with his mother, but at least he's got something warm and cosy to snuggle up to.

Gonegirl Fri 01-Nov-19 11:48:51

I had a lovely teddy bear I bought in a charity shop. He was quite big with a lovely smart outfit. Then I got all tidy-up-ish and sent him back to the charity shop. I miss him so much. sad

Sweet pic Maw

Lovely pic Maw I agree with Beechnut we all need a teddy sometimes.

BradfordLass72 Sat 02-Nov-19 07:14:08

Maybe it's just personal taste and a lot of mother-love but I think this picture of my one-week old son it quite cute.

He's not, I admit, a beautiful baby but his expression make me smile.

As does this little 'dog' made from flowers.

Pantglas2 Sat 02-Nov-19 07:17:01

All babies are beautiful BradfordLass72 x

Willow500 Sat 02-Nov-19 07:21:26

All babies are gorgeous BL - both human and animal (except maybe a baby parrot) smile Your little boy picture is very cute - I bet he looks a little different now!

MawB the baby gibbon with his teddy is lovely - we all need something to cuddle!

Oopsminty Sat 02-Nov-19 07:22:19

I find it rather sweet, Maw.

And he's a lovely baby, BradfordLass72!

Resurgam123 Sat 02-Nov-19 07:47:01

Both my children had cuddly pieces of cloth and teddy bears for quite a long time. No names no packdrill.

The times one or other had mislaid their blankets and mum or dad had to retrieve the object and all would be calm.

Cuddling children, teddy bears and other things
Smelly precious blanket teddie bears are very important for children and Dogs etc.

(There is a large labrador next to us who has a teddy bear. )

Oopsminty Sat 02-Nov-19 07:54:22

Oh my son was the same, Resurgam123.

But he liked old babygrow's labels. Whilst still attached to the clothing.

He'd stagger around sucking his labels and dragging manky old babygrows with him

I would try to wash them but it caused major outrage. I'd extricate them from him when he was asleep but in the morning when he detected fresh smell he was not happy!
