I love Keane's new song, 'Stupid Things'. blush

Anyone else love songs that could be deemed 'wrong'?

cavewoman Wed 18-Dec-19 15:13:18

I love anything by Keane. Especially Stupid Things.

Do you mean you shouldn't like is because the implication is that he's 'playing away'?

kittylester Wed 18-Dec-19 15:23:27

Yes, I do. But I think I'd forgive him!

But there are lots of other ones too I suspect.blush

BlueBelle Wed 18-Dec-19 15:31:41

Who s Keane ?

cavewoman Wed 18-Dec-19 15:39:39

Matt Cardles' 'When we Collide' was a huge favourite of mine until I read it was about domestic violence . I had no idea.

Kitty I don't think you'd really forgive him smile

BlueBelle Keane are a great rock group from Sussex.

Maggie May is my favouritist song ever. Has to be, it is my name. Took a while before I realised it was about a femme fatale (sp. meant to imply slapper).

I am a fan of Keane, and have requested the album which includes this track for Christmas.
Am I right in thinking they had split up in the past?

kittylester Wed 18-Dec-19 16:19:40

Think so!

KatyK Wed 18-Dec-19 16:36:38

I love Keane too.

Desdemona Wed 18-Dec-19 16:40:52

I love Keane too, but can't bear to listen to them anymore as their music was particularly abundant in the year I split from and got divorced from my husband - so unhappy memories. sad

Blurred Lines by Pharell Williams and Robin Thicke. It’s one of those very catchy songs by so, so wrong ??

SirChenjin Wed 18-Dec-19 17:06:25

But so

GrandmaKT Wed 18-Dec-19 17:13:40

Yes, same here for Blurred Lines SirChenjin.

When I was 9, my favourite song was "Harper Valley PTA", on listening to the lyrics when I grew up, it is totally inappropriate!

annep1 Wed 18-Dec-19 18:34:57

Underwear by Pulp is really not a good song but its one I really like on a favourite album Different Class.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Dec-19 18:38:42

I love that whole album, annep. smile
Jarvis is a great lyricist.

annep1 Wed 18-Dec-19 18:48:38

I agree MissAdventure. My daughter brought it home from university one summer and I loved it so much she gave me it.

Love Keane and Tom been to see them lots of times, great group. Great age range at concerts from the young to Mother-in-Law who's late 80's.

AllTheLs Thu 19-Dec-19 10:24:26

I love Keane, especially Everybody's Changing. Haven't heard Stupid Things yet though. Will listen later.

Sting was embarrassed to say that, with hindsight, the song he wrote was actually about stalking a girl he fancied but it had become a favourite at weddings.

Every breathe you take, every step you make, I’ll be watching you.

FearlessSwiftie Thu 19-Dec-19 10:35:40

The only song I`ve heard is Somewhere Only We Know from LOL (2012 movie)

jenni123 Thu 19-Dec-19 10:41:34

I live in Sussex and I have never heard of them/him??

jannxxx Thu 19-Dec-19 11:14:28

used to play Gary glitter, Micheal Jackson, and more who are all now, inappropriate people

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 19-Dec-19 11:20:24

I've just looked at the lyrics for the song you mention OP and it horrifies me. Surely it is romanticising domestic violence? That can't be right.

Run to you by bryan adams.
