Just seen that the rum raisin chocolate is being brought back into circulation and I for one are delighted, which choc bar do you miss from the past

My goodness , I havn't seen that for years - I'll scour Morrisons for it. My elder sister ( older , posher than me ) used to love it . I used to love an Aztec bar , are they bringing them back ?

Beechnut Sun 05-Jan-20 08:04:43

Way back tiredoldwoman I used to have a badge that said Feed Aztecs to me.?

Frys 5 Boys and Mint Cracknell.

The dairy milk selection bar. Box of chocs in a bar - genius!

I used to love Aztec and the tiffin bar

Greyduster Sun 05-Jan-20 08:53:18

Loved Old Jamaica; and Fry’s Milk Sandwich with a layer of dark chocolate in between two layers of milk. Also Frys Mint cream bar.

Beechnut, I need a badge that just says ' Do not feed ' - too many Aztec bars when I was young!

annsixty Sun 05-Jan-20 09:07:17

Oh I loved the rum and raisin one.
Also the many Fry’s bars mentioned here.
Really do not need chocolate but won’t be able to resist when I see them.

Dairy Milk Selection Bar - my dad used to eat a square or two after our evening meal. He always saved my favourite, the lime barrel for me.
(That’s quite a vivid memory, which just shot into my mind ... thank you Daisymae). ??

You can buy rum & raisin chocolate in Lidl.

A finger of fudge used to be my favourite but I never touch Cadbury chocolate now. I have just been informed that it is now produced in Poland.

Fry chocolate bars (variety flavour) and raspberry can be bought in Home Bargains

I bought the raspberry just before xmas.

Swisskit (sp?)
Ad was 'I'll risk it for a swisskit'

Caramac

Blinko Sun 05-Jan-20 10:44:52

I read recently that Cadburys is now made with palm oil, not cocoa. Yuk!

Chewbacca Sun 05-Jan-20 10:47:08

You can still buy Caramac chocolate bars Millie22, I bought one quite recently but either they've changed or my taste buds have because I found it very sickly and sweet.

ladymuck Sun 05-Jan-20 11:28:23

I used to love Old Jamaica too, glad to hear it's being resurrected. Another one I miss is another of Cadburys...you got the equivalent of a box of chocolates but in a bar.

This is great news! This was my favourite chocolate bar as a child but as it was v expensive in comparison to my pocket money income it was reserved for birthday and Christmas when I got money. Is is going to be available everywhere or just in certain shops?

grannymy Sun 05-Jan-20 12:02:33

I'd love to try Old Jamaica again. I like Twirls and the odd bag of Revels.

TrendyNannie6 Sun 05-Jan-20 13:35:05

Yes I’m very happy it’s back, now to find a stockist

KatyK Sun 05-Jan-20 13:40:35

I've just bought a pack of Fry's chocolate cream bars in Iceland. They are in the old fashioned wrapper with the five boys' faces on the wrapper. Very nostalgic.

Millie22 Sun 05-Jan-20 17:08:00

Thanks Chewbacca although like you I might find them too sweet now.

seacliff Sun 05-Jan-20 18:27:38

Many years ago I used to buy Ovaltine chocolate from a machine on the wall. And I loved Tiffin. And coffee creams.

I too like the Rum and Raisin chocolate from Aldi, very nice.

Fiachna50 I can get (but don't!) mint cracknell in the South African section of our supermarket.

So if you have access to any SA shops, or a supermarket with an ethnic foods dept., have a look.
