Following on from the thread about films, who do you see yourself (and your OH) as, in a film. For me it would be Rosie in The African Queen with Humphrey Bogart in that boat, or Eddie's mum in Eddie the Eagle especially at the end when she meets Hugh Jackman.

And also Katharine Ross in Butch Cassidy. I'm sure there are many more.

I know this is an idle thread but just sat down after a busy day!! smile

Well I always thought I’d like to be Goldie Hawn, she’s gorgeous and always looks like she’s having so much fun.

Oh, Emma Peel in The Avengers! She was sooo sophisticated and I just loved those lovely 60s clothes. I was only about 9 or 10 when I watched the series and I thought she was so elegant and brave (all that karate!). I did recently watch some of the series, it's really naff, but it brought back lovely memories.

I am split between Scarlett O'Hara and Morticia Adams such is the nature of my strangeness.

MerylStreep Mon 17-Feb-20 17:31:10

Teetime
Scarlett was my fist thought.
I would love to have been Faye Dunnaway in the Thomas Crown affair ( only the game of chess scene) ?

Elizabeth Taylor (Velvet Brown) in National Velvet.

Oh, Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Going into a shop with someone else's credit card to spend an obscene amount of money, and having the model -like figure and looks to wear them.
Or Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing I could have performed the dances once, and dancing with Patrick Swayze; oooooh.

Well, I was named after a Shakespearian leading lady, but I’m a bit old to play her now, so perhaps I would be one of the witches in M**be**. I think it would be a great role because it would be impossible to be over the top. Or, Mistress Quickly in “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” I saw Judi Dench playing this role and she was very funny.

Oooh I would be Bette Davies in "Whatever happened to Baby Jane"
She was soooo good in that film and I loved her makeup. Cant act for the life of me but this is a role I would relish. What does that say about me I wonder?

Florence Foster Jenkins for me although Meryl Streep was brilliant in that film.

I've always admired Sally Fields. Whether going on a silly adventure with the Bandit, or standing up for workers rights in Norma Rae, she is cheerful and spunky, and not over the top glamorous. More relatable to me.

Also love Julie Louis Dreyfuss for the same reasons.

But she's always the same. Judy Dench is just Judy Dench no matter what role she's playing.

Liza Minnelli in Cabaret. The best performance ever. We saw her in Manchester not too many years ago, she sang Maybe This Time and I found I had tears streaming down my face.
